Good parking near Bath. Off road lay by etc?

Off down M5 later for a delivery in Bath in morning. Any good off road parking nearby A or B roads, not M.S.E.

Any suggestions please!

If your boss is willing to pay.

Assuming you’re going into Bath from J18, there are a few laybys on that road before you get to Bath but none are particularly clear of that road and it’s a known area for diesel thieves.

In Keynsham, just behind the Co-op, adjacent to the A4. Never had trouble there & wasn’t woken up in the night by trains etc. Maps location here. I just drove down to the end, spun it round there and parked up on the right near the corner.

Locksbrook road Industrial Estate

You can park the lorry in the coach and lorry park in the centre of Bath.Just follow the signs for the coach park.
You have the Odeon cinema within a five minutes walk away.
Weatherspoons for a roast dinner.
I am not sure if it is free to park on Sundays or not.
Another option is Tormaton exit off the M4 for Bath for a layby.By the Dvsa weighbridge check point.

Carry on down the M5 exit at Avonmouth.Free parking by the road to Davies Turner rdc and a Renault truck dealers.
Do a U turn at the end of the road.
Third Way is the road.
Take aways in Avonmouth village and a pub that does meals.
Indian restaurant by the train station and a hotel opposite does pub grub.
Chinese takeway near the train station.
Bath is not far to do in the morning on the A4 but do it early to beat the commuters.

Come off at J17 M4 head towards Chippenham on the A350, about a mile there’s a layby, off the road just before the traffic lights.
Walk down to the traffic lights about 300 yards and there’s a pub on the opposite side of the road :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Does good places to park usually mean free so you can pocket night out money etc ?

Thinking about this most other businesses put their staff up in hotels, guest houses etc, maybe all truckparks should charge a min £50 -£100 a night and provide all the drivers with their own room etc ie in the travelodge at somewhere like knutsford if it had parking, Ibis at Lymm, Days Inn etc this could improve the drivers ‘lot’ by bringing them into line with other workers who stay away from home ?

Or get on the Melksham bypass.Turn off the roundabout for the Police station. The Milk Churn pub has good food.
Do a U turn at the end of the road.
You will see a large green Rdc off the roundabout.
Or Canal road Industrial estate in Trowbridge has free parking near the Airsprung bed factory.
Bath is not far away via Staverton.

Thanks all, I’ll pick one depending on traffic!

Don’t park in lay by near M4 j18 it’s frequented by men who’ll be knocking on yer cab. :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Dunno what your question’s got to do with the OP’s request.

Both it and your wishful thinking have been mulled over a thousand times before on this forum. For the record, most other businesses put their staff up in hotels cos cars don’t have sleeper cabs.

When has night out money ever had anything to do with paying to park?

CO-OP is now a Waitrose.

Fills up early doors, but you can park on both sides of the layby. Get out early, as the traffic southbound to Chippenham is murder, made worse now by the roadworks.

Alternatively, come of at junction 17, go north, and park behind the Murco garage, half a mile or so up the road. Also a keyfuels site, with a shop/off-licence.
