I imagine there will be books and films being considered already.

Astonishing, how on earth did children aged 13, 9, and 4 manage to keep a one year old baby alive for all that time in those conditions?

If you read the news story properly they were indigenous tribe people so the older 2 would have already quite a good knowlage of flora and fourna etc ,
An white man would have stood no chance

Yes, it is their own back yard, but they were there without a village around them, without the tools built up over time, and the baby at just one year old likely wouldnt have been fully weaned. Dropping into a jungle away from their own patch, they would have no previous knowledge about streams, the lie of the land etc. I agree that none of we city dwellers wouldnt have done nearly as well, but by any standard looking after the youngest, when the eldest was just a teen is amazing.

In the Discovery Channel documentary on this everything will be as it is
In the Hollywood film the white man will be American and will have been brought in to save them
In the Netflix film, the white man will have been hunting them.

In the Netflix film the white man would have been played by a black woman!

I saw the title, I saw the o/p username…I would have put money on it being a reference to Boris’s political resignation.

Ed, If it was pure politics I would have put it in Bullys from the off myself. Maybe I will put summat there later, but lets all enjoy this good stuff together

Didn’t this happen a few weeks ago, or was that a similar, miraculous incident?

There was a report a few weeks ago that they were found, but that was in error. Signs of them being alive were found then, but not the kids themselves.
Found y2day, 40 days after the plane crash.

Good story imagine our brats in UK. They wont have a clue. These kids even managed to take care of a toddler.

Thank-you, Franglias.

Yes, I’d wager that the 13 year old bears no resemblance whatsoever to a UK 13 year old, probably more than halfway considered to be an adult

Oh wait, no sorry, I forgot, white heterosexual males are responsible for all the evil in the world since the dawn of western civilization. As you were, carry on

If it were a white man the story would be more like
“Man dies in jungle crash due to lack of phone signal - Vodafone to be sued by victims family”

If I could pick one place in the planet to “be lost” it would be the amazon. It rains every day, every ■■■■■■ day! So fresh water without any risk of contamination is a non issue, thus hidration is a non issue. Cassava, brazil nuts, and many fruits are plentifull, so carbohidrates is a non issue. Although bang on the equator, during the day the forest provides shade, so sun stroke is a non issue. During the night, as it is bang on the equator, it is way too warm for hipothermia, so another non issue. It is a garden! Natives can still thrive and not only surivie today, just as they did before Christopher Colombus had even been born, unlike natives in Canada or the USA that have been assimilated or decimated, and today drive SUV’s and own cassinos and sometimes pretend to be natives by blowing tobbaco smoke on turists faces inside a tent. Natives in south america and specially in the amazon are really natives in the most basic sense. Some of them haven’t even seen any non natives yet, and the policy of all countries in the amazon is to keep it that way. If a tribe is uncontacted (by non natives), leave them be. Not to mention that if I find myself once lost in the amazon, it would be the same as being lost in my front lawn in the West Midlands nowadays.
For those that are intriged by the most preserved rain forest on earth and how trucking is done there: youtube.com/watch?v=ZHAK2u8 … el=BRUCUTU
By the way, Piranhas and caymans are protein sources and not something to be feared, Jags are as elusive as a skinny english bird passed 36 y.o. so your chance to see one in the wild are slim to none, and if you love living life, stay the heck away from ariranhas (river otters) , if you ever find yourself lost in the amazon…
