I was impressed with the tanker driver who followed me over Woodhead on monday,
The vehicle I was driving was being returned from working on a site and was very low geared and slow.By the time I reached the dual carriageway near Stocksbridge I had built up quite a convoy, I expected the tanker driver to overtake as soon as we reached the D/C, but he waved all the cars passed first. When he finally overtook me I expected an older driver, but this lad was only in his 20’s/ early 30’s,
So there is some hope that there are some real professionals still in the game.
Or he was hanging the job out lol
he’s obviously passed his Initial DCPC
already one Foot in Strike
Similar experience today when I was driving the bin lorry following a tractor drive, he moved over to the side to let everyone go past but unfortunately he couldn’t fathom that he and I wouldn’t fit side by side without intruding the next lane. At least he was being courteous
