Gloucestershire Firms

mrginge:

I work at Smith’s, those are the 3 lorries that have been ‘mine’ over the last year or so. Only the MAN is still alive.

There was an article in one of the truck mags last year where they mentioned Smiths stock of out of service trucks.

Mark Hobbs kindly gave me access/permission to use from his collection of transport photos, a few of which are Gloucestershire firms.
With a Colin Martin Trucks of Gloucestershire book( generous gift from a friend) which I’m using as a reference, I’ve sorted a few which I hope will be of interest.

Seeing the 60 plate Foden of Cullimores, I take it it was true that they bought some of the last Alphas and stored them?

Two more, first pic, parked up on a Sunday.

We have quite a good source of second hand parts at HQ as we rarely sell old units, they get parked up until they are the bare bones before crushing them.

You haven’t got a spare Triumph supersport bike on the scrap pile, by any chance?

Got a half decent 6w grab wagon gathering dust?

Considering the amount of BMW company cars i think thats the future for the team. Not sure if Guy Martin wanted to blag our Triumph as his payment for the TT ha

Tell Guy to get in the queue. I consider my previous post should qualify me for first dibs!

Such a pity Multi Agg were taken over by Earthline. All Smiths Of Glos’ old kit would be new to them.

Three more, two angles on the same wagon.
