Talking of “mating”, I well remember Harold Williams’ gorgeous blond wife.
Sorry, lads, just an old man going off at another tangent!

Yers a couple I found today after searching for other stuff…

Has everybody forgot maguires ?

I worked for BH freight got a few photos that I will try to get on here, also DM Baxter on tippers, on for dairy crest now, havnt got my own unit so havnt taken any photos, my dad was on for maguires years ago as well as BH so have to get the album out

No of course we haven’t forgotten Maguires. I’ve posted these on other sites and I still think they’re good photos…

Gary, how you doing?
I remember DM Baxter, I remember him having a days’ holiday on Smiths to go and buy his first wagon- the Foden 3000 8wheeler. Danny did well early on but got too big too quick. He had the right idea, one wagon for asphalt (Alans’ Scania), one for general aggs and muck (the Foden Alpha) and the muckshifter (Hino). I remember him being unsure when he bought the second Hino (for that clay job at Ardley) and Hino offered him some deal to persuade him. Next I heard he’d gone.
Strange as all the operators who bought “cheap” Hinos when that clay job was on, have all packed up or gone pop.

Paul elliote volvo and trailer, always immaculate.

I’ve noticed Elliotts of Cheltenham now have “Elliott Muck” on their cabs nowadays. They were moving rubble out of Ashchurch on Wednesday.
Haven’t been any comments on Huntsmans’, Keyways etc…

Tippers to carpentry■■?
I bet Allan’s having to rush about now (all the other Clywds’ seem to). Last time I saw Allan he was on for Macadams, running out of Wickwar.
Job’s going alright, good money but would rather be a regular driver and not just a spare. Never ruling out a return to tippers but I wont become a Red Arrow pilot!!

Yers another fine example of a Cecils wagon…
