Later on this month I’ve managed to blag myself on a exhibition job to Ghent. It’s leaving on the 16th and returning the following Sunday. It’s only in a 3.5t luton so nothing too drastic. I’ve never driven abroad before so just a couple of questions. How long will it take to drive from Calais to Ghent? Will I have to pay any tolls etc? Anybody know anywhere in the centre of Ghent to park a van for a week? The place where the exhibition is has no parking and every car park in the immediate vicinity are all too low to get the van in, under 3m. Including the hotel car park. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mark.
Dont know of anywhere in the centre but there is a Truckstop on the R4 in Zeehaven towards Zelzate.
In a van you should do Calais/Gent in 1hr 45 (not allowing for baccy stops)
No tolls. Park in a public car park. There’s loads.
Cheers lads.
You can park anywhere you like in Belgium as long as it is not on a cycle lane or a tram line!
