Well, this is an odd one.
So, yesterday was a pretty OK day. Did some stuff during the day, got a little dehydrated but not much and had a decent sized Sunday lunch. Went for a nap in the countryside in the afternoon, initially in sun but it changed to shade later and had 2 litres of water when I woke up.
Stomach felt a bit odd when got home but didn’t think much of it, and then pub briefly last night and was glad we were outside as ones ■■■■■ were, erm, quite potent! I woke at 5am without the alarm and popped off to the loo but nothing happened, and when I tried to get back to sleep I couldn’t but got very hot, i was literally burning up. I lay flat on the bed but felt very much that the last time I had been like this was when I’d had a hangover and was about to throw up. I was just getting hotter and hotter, sweating profusely.
Stomach felt awful but more as ‘this fat lump was about to make a break for freedom’ so lying on my back didn’t help but I was seemingly stable in that position. But when I did try and stand up was quite dizzy, so stayed lying down. After a while the cold sweat on my face started to dry and I was able to roll onto one side and hold my stomach up with a pillow and managed to doze off after an hour, but I have no idea what the [zb] it was.
I couldn’t have thrown up because I hadn’t eaten since the night before. The only things I think it could be is that the dehydration was a factor but I’m drinking half a pint of water when I get a chance at home and I’m hungry… Or I had indigestion.
It’s not often I feel like that. I have been worried with stress and all but don’t think it was anything like that. Ironically I then slept through to 9am and have just got some work from an agency One little stresser down, so we’ll see how that goes!
I had dehydration once whilst in Greece and felt really tired banging headache but don’t remember having bad guts, but I did have an overwhelming desire to drink and I couldn’t get it down fast enough I was like a man possessed drinking juice, lemonade and even water from the tap until my missus told me I’ll be more ill if I carried on drinking like that .But it’s not a nice feeling.
Having the temporary fever overnight was a new thing on me. I’ve not had a hangover in over a decade but have had a few bouts of food poisoning but this was different and really quite scary, as I live alone. The indigestion thing was a reminder. My father had had a bad case a few years back of suspected indigestion that was so bad the ambulance took him to hospital for a suspected heart attack. Couple days later the decided he was actually OK and it may have been indigestion but they can feel so similar, apparently.
If I add stress into the bargain I can see where things went wrong but likewise, it would be just my luck having spent all this money getting my Class 1 to get a [zb] heart attack!!!
Today I’ve been out working (Finally!) and downed about 2 litres of water, half of that chilled. I even remembered my sun tan lotion (right arm, right of neck and face ) This is a good reminder to rediscover my first aid kit that would carry such things as gel-soap, immodium, ibuprofen, paracetamol, gaviscon liquid, plus the usual assortment of antiseptic gel wipes and plasters. Don’t get to use the latter much but have already found that when it’s needed it’s worth it’s weight in gold… Same as immodium really

I thought I had indigestion last year, over the space of 2 weeks. I’d take an indigestion tablet, have a lay down and the pain would go, until the next time. This happened about 5 times over the 2 weeks. The final time, I was in bed, same pain came, followed by a serious sweat, as in, my head was drenched, the pillow was soaked. And I had a terrible , dull ache in my arms, then after about half an hour, and with the aid of a Rennie (or so I thought) the pain went, I went back to sleep, woke up in morning with repeat of night before, without the sweating. So my other half rang the On Call Dr, who after hearing the symptoms immediately arranged for an Ambulance to attend, I was carted off to hospital, by this stage I was again feeling fine, where after a few hours of waiting in A+E, a blood test showed signs of Troponin, I’d had a heart attack. The pains I’d been getting had been Angina, with the possibility that I’d had another heart attack in those 2 weeks leading upto it.
So, my advice here, get it checked out, it might be nothing to worry about, or it might just save your life. I was in hospital for around 7 weeks with mine, the 1st 2 and half weeks of just sitting in hospital because an Angiogram had shown I was at serious risk of having a much larger heart attack…
