Sitting in Yonkers Broadway diner last week and watching some fat ■■■■■■■ devour his huge plate of crap it occured to me that none of these guys know what a knife is for ?
I watched for a while as this idiot tried desperatly to cut his meat using the edge of his fork when a knife was there by his plate 
Has nobody ever thought to show people in this country what a knife and fork are for ? … My stepson is now almost 15 and for the last 10 years I have been trying to educate him in the use of cutlery, he is almost getting it right now.
Why place a knife and fork at the table if the ignorant ■■■■■ cant use them ?
How true, it amazes me, they all eat with their right hand and hold the fork like it’s a dagger, if they do pick up the knife they put the fork down and pick up the knife with their right hand and then they’re [zb]ed 
Have you noticed that, apart from steak and pork chops, nothing on any American menu requires a knife, veg is limited to sweetcorn and carrots, they don’t have peas as they can’t control the fork well enough to get them from plate to pie hole 
That’s why the fast food joints are so popular, not because they like burgers & chicken so much, just that they don’t have the agonising task of using cutlery

How true this is. those who do use a knife cut everything up first then eat it. trouble is its cold by now and resembles baby food.
Its even more embarrasing when so called professional chefs such as those on the food channel show their lack of class and basic skills using cuttlery and carving. They can cook it, they can eat it but they sure can’t cut it.
My american family watch me eat with amazement when I use them properly 
Especially when I have more than one type of food on my fork
How can I possibly put more than one item in my mouth on the fork

But you need to understand, Rob. Most of us expats can eat with decorum. We just take longer mealbreaks in order to use our cutlery…
