Hi, anyone else fallen foul of the German Zoll, re non std fuel tanks. I was parked at an Autohof on the A24 east of Hamburg. 10 o’clock at night 3 zoll officers spent an hour or more measuring size and capacity of sb component tanks. They now want over 400 euros off the Boss, anyone fought this?
Mind you they also wanted 120 euros on the spot, I explained it was Friday and heading home and only had 55 euros and no credit card, “ok we will take 50 euros” I then said this would only leave 5 euros for me and the wife to get breakfast, and that I was an employed driver and that it was not my choice of what or where I drive. ! Zoll officer scratched his chin muttering away in deutsch, and then says " ok we will write to your employer for the money.
Result for me I think, so stay calm and state your case they will listen sometimes.
