Is it possible to get a new digi card when in Germany or any other EU country when you have a UK licence?
If a driver is away for several weeks/months without an address abroad, Then he could end up in a sticky situation.
I should imagine you’d need to have a registered address in Germany for that and demonstrate some kind of physical residence in that country. Who are you going to be working or to be gone that long? Or is this just a hypothetical question?
No need to worry about digi cards when you’ve got the magnet on Phillip
Yes it is.
Semi hypothetical question to be honest. I’ve not made my mind up.
It’s 6 months away, then home for legal/tax reasons etc. then back out for another 6 months.
The contract is for Gist, They’ve taken over three large dutch firms running into Denmark and Sweden from Lubeck.
All legit, So no magnets.

So get your card sorted in the UK before you take the plunge. A lot less hassle.
Absolutely no problem running with a UK digicard or UK licence over here. I did it myself for several years until they came up for renewal.

Just trying to cover all eventualities. What if it goes wrong over there?
Did the EU penpushers consider foriegn workers when they came up with the digi tacho?
Are they supposed to stop work and fly home and wait two weeks for a new one?
So many questions unanswered.
I would assume that the same thing would apply to a Brit driver in a Brit lorry on a trip abroad, if the digi card went ■■■■ up he’d keep a manual record of events

That’s the problem, you can only do this for 2 weeks, and some round trips could be the best part of that.
Digi card in a Berlingo?
