I should be getting a job at BBC as their TN programme promoter and advisor.
Watched ‘George Michael at the BBC’ (on I player again.)
If you liked this guy as a singer, it’s deffo worth watching.
It is on for about an hour and a half, interviews and most of his records and live performances.
Not too keen on his 'Bubblegum type pop 'Wham days stuff, (although there were a couple of good pop records,…‘Everything she wants’ and ‘Last Christmas’, ) but I was a big fan of his more serious stuff, but never got the chance to see him when he cancelled his concert (that we had tickets for) with pneumonia a couple or so years before he died.
‘One more try’ and ‘Different Corner’ being 2 of my all time favourite tracks.
This guy was a talented true professional and excellent singer.
I still say his Freddie Mercury concert, version of ‘Somebody to love’ was even better than the original Queen one…look on you tube for his rehearsal when even David Bowie is watching him in awe.
Anyhow if you liked him as a singer, watch it, if you didn’t…don’t.
