My son has a Garmin Dezl lgv700 sat nav that has got stuck in a loop of this loading screen.
It’s not a problem I’ve ever had with a paper map so I’m not much use at helping but wonder if anyone has any ideas or suggestions?
Cheers

Is it…
Insured against being accidentally, ‘whoops butter fingers’ dropped from a multi-storey car park?
Has he tryed the reset button.
As said look for a reset button or do reset procedure if there is one like TomTom. By holding the power button on a TomTom it forces it do a hard reset.
If nothing like that works it’s probably a corrupted file/s, whether that is on an internal hard drive or SD card I don’t know as never used Garmin’s.
Does it have a companion app on the pc for doing updates etc like TomTom my drive. Plug it in if so and see if any updates are available and if there are then it should sort any corrupted file issues.

Thanks for replies, he / we had tried forcing it into a reboot by holding power button but it got stuck in that loop.
I;ll ask if there is any software he can try and connect to computer with. I’ll pass on suggestions when I see him.
Cheers
Might sound silly but if it won’t reset or respond then why not let the battery die and then try again?
My daughters boyfriend sorts this type of issue , thankfully before I launch it at the wall , I can sit there for hours and the ■■■■■■■ thing won’t do anything , he gets it for 2 seconds and everything works fine , my girls the same , sorts it in a second
I spent a day on my new tv , was about to boot it , within 5 mins of him turning up its working perfectly
But he’s not got a clue how to fit a door , build a wall , change a gearbox etc etc
These young kids are brought up with computers , tech stuff , I’ve no interest , just frustrates the hell out of me .
No help to op but I’m glad I’m not the only one with issues with this new fangled technical stuff
He’s 20 and I’m tryimg to help him. God help us!
Is there an SD card In the device? It has 16gb internal storage but can have user data on an external SD card.
If so remove the SD card and see if it will boot up properly then. If it does and putting the SD card back in causes it to freeze again then the SD card is most likely corrupted.
