This is a worthwhile moan though… Why doesn’t Massachesettes seek advice on how to resurface highways FFS ?. 12 years I have been travelling the highways and byways of this country and have come across some terrible road maintenance but MA takes the prize for stupididty. You cannot help as you zip along I-90, 290, 495, 93 or any other interstate in MA why the make such a good job for miles then stop at bridges ? You can glide along at speed on nice new smooth tarmac then come to a bridges and its like driving off and back on a curb at top speed. I have asked the Masspike authority this question and was given the answer ‘Bridges have to be resurfaced by the bridge workers union members’
What a load of crap ! they leave those bridges rough and in decay for months after the road has been resurfaced then when they do get round to doing the bridge they do it so there are two levels of black top so nothing is ever smooth. :cry:

Is it true that a lot of the bridges belong to the Port and River Authorities and not the DoT? So never get resurfaced at the same time.

Just parked up for the night in Kittery, Maine after experiencing just what you describe. I like the warning signs that say “Bump”…more like a bloody the ramp on the flight deck of the Ark Royal, thats what the contests of my cab think any way!

Could you imagine the uproar if the M1 had a 3 inch difference in surface levels at every bridge ? :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

There’s some bad bumps in MASS on I-495 on the northbound side at the route 2 exit, i can’t imagine how bad the freight looks inside a trailer after it’s been thrown around like that :cry:

I hate that spot Charles, I ran up there on tuesday, when I get near rte 2 exit I move into the middle lane and if nobody is watching the extreme left lane to ease the ride, they are disgracefull.
