Ok,Im sorry for sounding condascending but,at the end of the day,I’m worried about the planet, but here’s the thing. It looks like no one can make suggestions about reduces CO2 without being called a hypocrite because we ALL consume oil in one way or another, unless you live in the rainfoests of the Amazon jungle, but I think it’s worth doing what we can to reduce our carbon footprint
Thing is very few people think any of it applies to them when it comes to whether to indulge in whatever it is: jetting away on holidays; a big fast car etc etc.
The ex US vice president Al Gore has long proffered himself as an environmentalist, but has a massive mansion and estate where he uses colossal amounts of electricity. No doubt he does believe in stopping climate change, but just not through his own actions.
I’m fairly sure Rishi Sunak is a heavy user of electricity / gas with his various properties. He will make the right soundbites about meeting targets, but he isn’t willing to sacrifice his standard of living for the sake of the planet, let’s face it.
Most people will simply look at the wealthy and decide if they can’t be bothered, why should I be bothered?

How much faith do you have in humans to save the planet? After all, arent the scientists telling us it’s not too late but WE need to stop burning fossil fuels. But we dont.It would be too disruptive and uncomfortable to do that so we keep burning them, burning coal even though we know it will make the world uninhabitable for the next generation or the one after that but he hoh, that’s just the price that needs to be paid.So lets blame God for all this ,shall we…
Firstly, I have more faith in humans that the Easter bunny, Father Christmas or a god of any denomination.
However, you are trying to deflect the question, with another question.
I’ll simplify the question. Why does your God not change the science so our modern way of life does not pollute the earth?
A design fault, that needs rectification.
I dont know why He doesnt but,up to now,you and, indeed everyone I discused this with on this forum always ask,Why doesnt God…etc, etc…
How about a wuestion,Why do humans…
Because we know humans exist. God himself refuses to prove his existence, hmmm, there’s a logical explanation for that.
How about this for a suggestion, just post truck related stuff here, save your religious guff for a god botherers’ forum.
OK,but if you dont want me to talk about it,dont bring the subject up!!
WhiteTruckMan:
On the subject of fuel economy I just try to drive as smoothly and sensibly as possible. The fuel economy is what it is, and I don’t lose any sleep over it.
On the subject of emissions etc, I firmly believe that whatever efforts we make as drivers is more than cancelled out by idiot planners sending us miles out of our way, loads being rejected for the arsiest (is that a word?) of reasons and some careless herbert on his phone piling into the back of the vehicle in front, with the subsequent holdups we all know and love.
The religion/creationism thing? I’ll leave that to the usual chattering monkeys.
Its cancelled out but I think its still worth trying

I understand what you were saying.I got the idea about the earthquakes because I asked geologist online, once,if death valley is below sea level, why dont they build a big pipe and start pumping seawater into it.But he said that if they did that,it would put that much weight on the floor,it could affect the geological status quo of the area, maybe even cause Yosemite to erupt and that could take out a quarter of the USA if that goes off.
Anyway, like you say, nothing we can do
I remember snow about 4/5 ft deep in the 60,s , what they’d make of it now I don’t know
As for Covid I’ve had all the injections & are due another one in a week , I’m opened minded about it all , I’ve no doubt some have died / had reactions to the injections , but then You see Kate garowayss hubby derek who’s never recovered from covid , and he’s far from the only one , plenty died from it
I just take my docs / consultants advice I should take it as I’m at risk

Yeah?
Well while you were asking geologists about how they could solve the problems in the world, I was drinking a can of John Smith’s watching Newcastle play AC Milan…get my drift?
As I and Paul McCartney once said…'‘What’s the use of worrrying’ youtu.be/Taux8Ij5YpY?si=aIsNeTvzbTWrUSjo
As for Richie Sunak,.Al.Gore et all who somebody mentioned…
Do you really think when they take off their politicians persona and head, after paying lip service and showing pseudo concern to every ■■■■ issue in the world that they are anything like that when they are sat at home watching TV in their undercrackers,?
Nah, in reality and in their own minds they don t give a flying ■■■■ about any ■■■■■■■ thing except their high wages and maintaining their luxury lifestyles
Wtf do you expect them to do?..move into a caravan?
So I am like them, (maybe apart from the wages and lifestyle) and basically dont bother my arse about such stuff…as selfish as it sounds, but what would I achieve if I did?
Oh yeah,.stop mentioning Status Quo,.I’ve already answered that one.
I have no intention of wasting two hours of my time watching a video from a deranged American fruit-loop evangelist. Countless dinosaur remains have been discovered around the World, have been dated by thousands of palaeontologists using methods which withstand the most robust scientific scrutiny, and dinosaurs have been determined beyond any doubt whatsoever to have lived between 245 million and 66 million years ago.
Do you do all your searches for knowledge on religious based sites.
Do yourself a favour…open your mind man.
It’s a bit like doing a search on the Jewish race,.and consulting ‘The memoirs of Dr Josef Goebbles’
You are NEVER going to get an accurate and unbiased explanation.
“Thus the huge coal deposits of today’s world can easily be explained.11 The coal formed quickly in the year-long Genesis Flood only about 4,300 years ago. This coal is a grim reminder that God judged the world because it had become filled with wickedness, corruption, and violence (Genesis 6:11–13). Yet God also shows His mercy. He used the Flood judgment to provide the huge coal resources so much of the world depends upon today.”
Meanwhile, National Geographic say this-
"Fossil fuels are formed from the remains of ancient organisms. Because coal takes millions of years to develop and there is a limited amount of it, it is a nonrenewable resource.
The conditions that would eventually create coal began to develop about 300 million years ago, during the Carboniferous period. During this time, Earth was covered in wide, shallow seas and dense forests. The seas occasionally flooded the forested areas, trapping plants and algae at the bottom of a swampy wetland. Over time, the plants (mostly mosses) and algae were buried and compressed under the weight of overlying mud and vegetation".
But like you say, we are both free to choose which to believe.
I hope that the Rev Sploom is right. I hope that when he finally shuffles off this mortal coil he is indeed welcomed into Nirvana by a golden band of angels whilst the rest of us sinners stoke fires and endure constant torture.
I also hope that fairies, goblins, Santa Claus, Nessie and magicians exist too.

The most commonly correct answer to any question that begins ‘why dont they…’ is money.

OK,but if you dont want me to talk about it,dont bring the subject up!!
I didn’t!
Here’s something for you to cogitate. The Australian Aboriginal people are the oldest continuous civilization on earth. They have been around for 60~70,000 years, give or take a decade or two. Mick Jagger is 6,000 years old.

You dont have to endure endless torture, you can always choose the narrow path by believing in Jesus Christ. But ,no ,the years go by so quick ,before we know it we will be at the Judgement day where we will meet the fate that we chose for ourselves.
Now is the acceptable time to choose where we spend eternity
