Fuel cards in Scotland

My lot are opening a depot in Glasgow soon. We use BP fuel cards at our southern depots but I am led to believe that coverage is very poor in Scotland.

We will be running about 12 vehicles. We were hoping to put a fuel bunker in but apparently Clyde port authority take about 2 years to make these kind of decisions :open_mouth:

Any advice on the best fuel card to plump for in Scotland?

Thanks in advance
Simon

i forgot the name of it, atlas or something like that covers every petrol station pretty much

bp coverage is kinda poor glasgow way. in fife we have 3 bps within ten miles of each other, only 2 will take trucks tho

Allstar â– â– ?

it’s pump prices though :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Why not try the BP Site Locator. Do you have a login for it ?

thats the one

yea i know but bp sites up here are very limited plus its less than a quid a litre for diesel up here

I don’t get up that way much, a bit too much Atlantic in the way, but I would say that BP would have a pretty good coverage up in Scotland, IIRC they operate the refinery at Grangemouth, so logically I would assume that they have the odd service station up that way.

Forgive my ignorance on this issue guys - I don’t know a lot about it as all of our depots have fuel bunkers on site and only our trampers have fuel cards - but I would have imagined that if you pay for derv with a fuel card then you would always pay pump prices.

Just had a look at BP’s coverage, it’s OK south of Dundee with 2 on the A9 further north and one in Fort William. A big gap in NE Scotland which is likely to be a problem.

Someone mentioned ReD, they have decent coverage up there but allegedly are rather expensive. Any thoughts?

they are mostly better than pump price  just need to watch them ( the same as any fuel card co !)

dont know about the west coast but there is a bp fillin station at huntly
three in aberdeen
then you have inverurie, ellon, elgin, ballinluig, aviemore, inverness, think the tore truckstop north of inverness is still bp, two in dundee

the only one i can think of as being tight for artics is ellon

If your just running up to Glasgow then returning back south, you could use Southwaite services on M6 or Golden Fleece services, junction 42, M6 at Carlisle. All BP. Johnstonebridge services M74 also.

Just remembered. Bothwell services, M74 southbound, Hamilton services, M74 northbound. Both just south of Glasgow. Open 24/7.

Our 5 drivers have b.p cards and never have any problem getting fuel ?
bp will give you a list of all locations just print enough copies and give one to each driver :unamused:

Van Den Bosch only used BP and we never had a problem in Scotland either.

When I started driving before keyfuels were invented, all we ever had was 3 bunkers in the UK.

Davidsons at Penrith on the old A6. O’Connors at Widnes and Tankfreight in Greenwich
