Yesterday as I was messing around in Yonkers I did a first thing check on the truck and found that the middle (LED, everlasting) front/roof light was not working so I called our Albany workshop to see if they had any ? regular bulbs wont fit of course.
“No ! we don’t have any for a Cascadia”
" then can you order some because as a large porton of the fleet is now Cascadia’s it would seem a good idea"
“Yeah, I will order some, they will be here tomorrow Pat, in the meantime try the Frieghtliner dealer in Yonkers”
I bobtail to our Lake Ave yard and find Rich (Longwayround) there doing things to his truck, I borrow his ‘T Torque’ tools to climb u and remove the damm light, then borrow his trusty VW Golf and head to the dealer to get a replacement lamp. “Wass the VIN number ?” I am asked.
“I don’t know, but it’s a standard roof lamp for a Cascadia” I tell the pillock at the counter.
“I need the VIN number”
“Why ? … It’s the same as every Cascadia roof lamp in the country, you have about 20 Cascadia’s in that yard and they all have the same lamps”
“I need the VIN number, it might be different”
“You mean you can’t walk into that stick room and get a Cascadia roof lamp off the shelf ? They are all identical”
“No VIN number, I can’t help you, so come back with the VIn number”
“F*** off, I will get it somehwere else” I then tell the manager how usless the place was and drive back. Got a new lamp at Albany this morning and even then they only ordered one lamp
I feel better now Pat has had his rant
So freightliner dealers aren’t only useless in New Brunswick then!
Hi Pat, there’s some right tossers about mate.
Just take some time out and realise you are not one of them, bleeding jobsworth Lol.
Paul
Fair play to the dealership Pat, you said it was an EVARLASTING roof light so why would they keep any in stock

I’ve had two previous dealings with this place Charles. In 2008 the flexi pipe on the exhaust broke and I went there for a new one, I waited all day for the truck and in all that time it was shut in the workshop. Next I had a fan belt break, I took it there at 08.00am, they had t5he belt and said they could fix it in 2 days
I took the belt to my truck, called a local breakdown company who came out to the Frieghtliner dealer and fitted it in 15 minutes … Much to the annoyance of the manager there
