Hello Bill, Many thanks ! Its been a pleasure watching this thread grow, surely there are more pictures kicking about which can keep this thread going. Ive inserted this one just for a little taster. Mon Genevre 1965

Hi there Gilbert,
You will have to have a rummage in your old boxes mate to keep this thread alive,i have enough to last till the summer - after that ?
Just hope there are more photos out there like the one Haddy found.Of the old 8 wheeler in Yarmouth. See you at Newark ?

I found this near Besthorpe one day when i was poking around seeing what i could find, it’s one of our old 4-in-line trailers that were sometimes hooked on a dolly and hung behind a ridgid as a drawbar tlr.

Looking at those trailer-mounted sleepers. Wondered what they were like to sleep in. Either very hot or very cold i’d
imagine. Anyway, here’s a couple of similar set-ups that might be of interest.

Sorry, no thread hi-jacking intended.

Never slept in one myself either but there will be someone who has. I would think that given the non availability of digs in the middle of europe back then they would have been a godsend for the tired driver.Come to Newark later this month and you can ask en ex Fridged Freight driver for your self as we are holding a re-union on the 28/29 of May at the Newark showground.

Would love to come along to Newark - bet there will be some great stories to be heard - but i’ll be on my way to Russia at the
time, so hopefully they will be relayed on TN (or in the book!).

shame! have a good trip and bring back some photo’s!

Hi carl and thanks for the comments mate. Its no easy task to do a book (ask ash!) i have it well in hand and i am waiting to get some more material in there is loads of stuff still out there waiting to be discovered and i am hoping this and a do at Newark will hustle along a few thing and i can get something out , but it has got to be good or i wont be involved, i dont do 2nd rate stuff!
