Surely you didn`t go abroad in those■■? :open_mouth:

that f88 is a cracker :sunglasses:

*Thanks Harry , thats made it look miles better , you are a dab hand with photoshop mate!*I had two or three of those ,brand new, on Malta Cross round about '69 so I got a special affection for LHD three axe F88’s. I went straight from a RHD 180 ■■■■■■■ ERF to a brand new F88 - I was in Heaven!! LOL!

You’ve got some brilliant snaps btw.
Looks like Wyatt was ahead of his time with the maxi boxes. We all had flats & ropes & sheets when the Scammel snaps were taken.

ramone: yes the Scammel was the first of Wyatt’s to venture over the water driven by Chris Wyatt the son of the owner and a Mr.Carl Creasey, they were followed by a veritable fleet of MK 3 AEC’s , dony forget that there was no alternative to lorries like these back in 1958/9

Looks like the Bonhomme? How many sets of chains did you have between you?LOL

Look at the price of the rooms! I broke down near the top in the snow ,walked there -or die- & they were around 30FF with breakfast.

Had many a good meal in there on a cold night hey Harry, trout and almonds followed by the local Munster cheese where my favourites, remember big Billy Parker if you didn’t eat all the fish bones as well he would have them of you and scoff the lot.
Been dug out of there a few times on a snowy night by the staff, Is it still run by the same family? Nice people.

It changed hands once but I haven’t been for years. The dining room looks the same. The evening I had to walk there they closed the mountain off & my old Henshell died. It was on the last bend from the top coming from Swiss. Snowing like hell. If you didn’t know your way about in those days you were in big trouble. Wonderful meal ,good warm room. Got wrecked & went to bed happy.

No wonder we won the war ,but like you said there wasn`t an alternative in those days
