This sounds like the beginning of the
Gps box in truck to calculate tolls, personally I think there more interested in keeping tabs on you so they could fine you for a weight limit u broke 20 days before hand.

Also does anyone know if it’s an extra toll or if it’s replacing peages.
If it’s extra that will be crippling because the rates won’t levy it out quick enough
From all I’ve read about it, the roads already tolled won’t have them as their ppp deals with the government but the likes of the A28 and N10 will, in other words we’ll be tolled every kilometre we cover in that bloody money pit of a country.
Apparently it affects 10,000km of National roads and 5,000km of Départementale roads, not seen much about autoroutes being affected.
Three regions benefit from a 25% reduction in charges, one of which is Aquitaine, so at least our office here in Agen will have something marginally less to moan about . . . as if!
