Forward Facing Camera

Got to try mine out yesterday afternoon at M1 J20, Lutterworth. While waiting to pull out off the sliproad, a car pulled straight into the path of a van on the roundabout. Big collision right in front of me, airbags exploding all over the place and a little Peugeot 206 spun right around by the impact. I nipped out and did what I could to check on casualties, clear one of the cars off the carriageway and wave my arms around like a loon to try and keep the traffic moving. Didn’t take many minutes for it all to grind to a halt though. Apologies if anyone here got caught up in it.

Had a look at the footage today - it clearly shows what happened (including my own athletic performance  ). Very effective - might even get one for the car.

Fair play for getting out and helping, plenty would have driven on.

Why? Is it your camera or theirs?

Roymondo:
Company won’t allow it.

so what you said

Got to try mine out yesterday afternoon at M1 J20, Lutterworth

it aint really yours then so work downloaded it did they

It’s “mine” in just the same way as it’s “my” truck, “my” load, “my” run etc. ■■■■ - I’ve just realised that I’m sitting here in my work clothes and they belong to the company too!

So you didn’t get to try it out then. If you weren’t involved in the accident then why did your company feel the need to even view the footage? Do they have a look every time you go past a bit of skirt at the side of the road?

I tried it out, as in I pressed the button after the event, and lo! it worked just like they said it would. Our TM downloaded and viewed the footage because I asked him to. Not exactly rocket science, is it?

Might be an idea to offer the footage to the police/insurance company, would help out the innocent party in a big way.

Police know the video exists, although they have not (yet) asked to view it. I doubt there will be a prosecution in this case, although it is pretty obvious what happened and who was to blame.

Same applies to the insurers - I don’t think they’ll be disputing liability.

Don’t post it as a criminal prosecution may follow.

Just read your last.
