I work on a fairly big business park/industrial estate. There’s a Batleys cash N carry, a Brakes, a Fyffes and a UPS a stones throw from us. Quite often, like yesterday morning 8.00am (Friday), I’ll see at least three foreign trucks parked up and they’ll still be there when I go in on Monday morning. What do they do for three or more days to stop them going insane?! There’s a limit to how much ■■■■ you can watch
There’s always a taxi into the nearest town, pub or something.
You’ll find a few parked up in Avonmouth on the weekend it’s nothing to see them wander down the village or get a bus into Bristol for the night.

Coventry Cross Point i take it?
this was Ashford AKA waberers UK operating centre mid week a couple of week ago, I cant imagine whats its like on the weekends!
Most i see parked up over the weekend have a big satellite hanging off the mirror so a mix of films/■■■■/tv/playstation i’d have thought.
Remember when i used to be parked up in europe a day or a few waiting, pre internet days lol.
VHS and tv out (bloomin bulky lol)
Or a walk into town/village/city.
Even better in Germany the NAAFI (again different times)
“■■■■/TV/Playstation”
I would imagine you need a manual gearbox for that.
…The mind boggles…

There’s at least 10 parked up down our way all cooking in the sun, if it was me I’ll take a push bike and explore, that reminds me where’s Toby ?
Some EE drivers have friends or family in the UK to stay with for a few days waiting for reloads back to Europe.
I have seen EE drivers have their cab curtains shut for days with no sign of life, and did wonder what they did to pass the time.
It has been known for Willi Betz and Turkish drivers to wait for weeks for a load back that pays enough.
As Baldy said, the Tobester got his bike out and explore for miles riding.
He’s out of it after being gassed in his truck, but says he must had had a skin full in his sleep during the night or spent all his running money on Dandy & Beanos.

There was a Turkish guy in a layby at Normanton from Monday to Friday without moving a inch! How can anyone do it!
There are at least 10 Patinters parked up in Ron Perry’s on the A19 north and south side and one in Easington services. Daf, Magnum and the new "T’ range. Regular meeting place these days!!! Anybody know where they tip?
There was a broken down foreign daf in the layby at carsluith on the A75 all last week

I spent seven days in Giresun, northern Turkey waiting for clearance on a backload one time, drove me nuts, (Excuse the pun, I was backloading hazel nuts!), only consolation I was parked up on the beach of the Black Sea.

Nissan Sunderland
Patinter lda is a large firm based in Mangualde Portugal, they used to have three thousand lorries, now they have about half of that on car parts work.
A lot of Ukrainian drivers who have settled down with their families in Portugal.
Monthly wage from about 700 to 1000 euros.
Many old timers will remember the Portuguese trucks that were very old and painted with cheap paint used to paint ships, then when the EU money grants arrived, you saw new trucks.
How drivers can sit in a stinking and noisy lay by for days would drive me mad and Raymundo would see me and gas my cab , rendering me unconscious so he could steal my Farmers Weekly and my push bike.
Considering the cheap price of domestic satellite / freeview systems available in the UK (£20+ for a sky dish & £20-£30 for an android/openbox) I’m not surprised I’ve not seen many UK trucks with dishes hung from the truck, & drivers watching sky sports, Sky movies etc when parked up for the night
