A TRUCK which is still one that
beat many of the latest models.
thanks to every one who posted
pictures very much appreciated,

Chris Webb, Did they really have the twin-split box, I thought they were either a 9 or 13 speed Fuller road Ranger a different box from the Eaton Fuller twin-split, but correct me if i’m wrong, the minds fading, ha!!

When I worked for Cabmont, if my Daf2200 was in for service they would hire a motor from Leasowe Van & Truck, St Helens. Quite a few times I had a Transconti and they had either a 9 or 13 speed range change in 'em.

the one I had was a 13 speed 'ranger.
that is was a 9 speed but with overdrive on the top 4

Sorry dieseldog you are right they did have the 13 speed Fuller, not the twin split. I don’t think the twin-split box was ever fitted in 'em.

I must be losing me memory mate - I’ll take another tablet.

This transcon is alive and well in Norfolk and my other half has 4 restored with others in the pipeline.

That was similar to mine but it was on an S plate. It took me up and down to Athens on several trips, even had Theo & Ron the Con try to make it go faster :stuck_out_tongue:

If anyone is looking for a Transcon the white one with blue stripes behind the rigid in the photo is for sale and will be going on Ebay in the near future so keep your eyes open.

Any interestd parties can contact me for more info via PM.

Ross.

Just an additive to the Transcon was me being hooked up to the breakdown on the A303 in around 1996 to be towed to a Yeovil Garage , the white Scania with a disintegrated Injector pump belonged to Jimmy Alfords son , I did a couple of trips for him with China clay after I retired . and that was bl***y hard work steering with no running engine .

Sorry for the really bad photo’s.

When I was an O/D in the '80’s, used on the Continent, and never let me down once. Ex GKN, one of the FORD test trucks, with, unusually, a 275 ■■■■■■■■
Sold it to another OD who did UK / Greece, She met her untimely end when he tilted the cab to steam clean the engine in a delivery yard in Greece, unfortunately he had his stove on which fell forward and caught the cab on fire. ( he didn’t notice because of the steam cleaner !!!) RIP in some foreign land
