Found a couple of pictures that I don’t think we’ve seen before.
Hello there, I’ve just joined this forum after seeing a pic of my transcontinental, I use it to repatriate damaged vehicles from all over Europe, I love driving it and it creates a lot of attention wherever it goes, I’ll try and post some current pics if I can load them.

I notice the Scania battery box, I take it you’ve rewired it
was it a full cab swap or just the lid off the Turboliner
It’s a fine looking machine though and nice to see one in such good shape still earning a crust
Hullo,
I know I’ve asked the same question on here before, but I wonder if anybody has a picture of my old Transcon. I through a third party in Essex and a Belgium Dealer, imported it from an Owner Driver in Antwerp. It was in very good fettle cabwise, the bunks had never been used and both they and the passenger seat still had plastic on them. Unfortunately when I started to use it, I was running regular to Greece at the time, I found out that everything else mechanically was absolutely shagged. I had Tony the Greek Transcon Man do some work on it, then the brakes started giving me bother. The Greek Brake Man said he could get them in great shape if I took out all the nessessary parts from the UK. When I called in to Bobby Mckellars yard at Tilbury to price up and buy the parts, I was in for a real shock, the cost was far too much for me to afford. So there and then I phoned the Finance Company and backhanded it. I went home in it so they had to come to my yard to collect it.
The last time I saw it was in Dover clearing Customs. It was in Davis Turner colours and was then owned by Athol, (R.I.P). I saw him in the Wheelhouse later and said to him I hope you have better luck with it than I had. He asked me what I meant, so aà said that I had imported it into the UK. He went Barmy, he would’nt believe it, even called me a bloody liar. By he was mad that night. I often wonder if the Crafty ■■■■■■■■ had resold it to him as a far newer Vehicle.
It was a Dark Yellow with with Brown and Red stripes on it when I had it. Left Hand Drive, great big long wheelbase 4 wheeler, with 12.00 x 20 Tyres on it. 350 hp When as I say Athol,(R.I.P.) had it it was the White and Green of Davis Turner.
If anybody has a picture of it it was. GJY 243 Y
Archie.
Have a trawl around here,Archie.
Thanks Harry,
Same colours as that, but with the larger square tank, long wheelbase and with great big wheels. I should reckon it’s been scrapped by now. I was just hoping to find a picture of it somewhere.
There may though be a picture of it in Davis Turners’s colours around too.
Archie.
Try that link above the pic,Archie.

Yes I did rewire it, the battery box, air and fuel tanks were off a slaughtered 143 that we had collected. It is the original cab I cut the rotten floor out had new parts made and welded them in and as for the top I got a complete turbo liner cab from Snows commercials and cut the roof off and simply glued it on, I used the Renault door locks so I can lock and unlock the thing from the inside very handy that is I bet I’m not the only one that’s jumped out for a jimmy and then couldn’t get back in.I started from scratch with the wiring , I made new looms and run them up through the passenger side cab and put a fuse and relay box in one of the glove boxes and touch wood so far it’s been bug free.
More than once I’ve been stood outside at 3am in my boxers and dealer boots after having a ■■■■, looking at the [zb]ing locked door handle from the wrong side
After the first time I made sure I had a cab tilt bar on the outside of the cab instead of under the bunk
Not the easiest job reaching through the gearstick hole and getting the keys out, long arms help, but you can’t do it and stay clean

Dealer boots . . . the footwear of dodgy Eastend used truck dealers (only joking Mr Lee!)
The odd Transconti comes up for sale here in France - here’s a six wheeler rigid in the south that’s been on the market for a while with a Fuller box, the real choice of champions
