For Ben.......Betz

6 Betz trucks waiting at Proctor & Gamble on Pimbo industrial estate skelmersdale waiting ti either load or unload

took with camera phone, so sorry for the darkness and focus, lol

finally on the industrial estate 3 Russian, 2 belgium, and slov betz they must have had a huge order going out as there were others there too like the spedition truck parked up waiting

good one!, I am suprise there lots of betz stay around at Skemersdale Ind Est  , is they stay for overnight ?

I know Willi Betz’s policy - Betz lorries dont allow stay at Skemersdale Ind Est for overnight or weekend because Skemsdale Police have lots of problem dealing with Willi Betz lorries - ■■■■■ cut & stole the proctor gamble products also more difficult for bulgarian drivers with police - communaction. Skemersdale Police have been meeting with Willi Betz Office. They have agree all betz trucks must stay at Knusford MSA for overnight or weekend parking plus free parking anytime in Knusford MSA. Willi Betz have new policy for drivers if they stay at skemersdale for overnight, Betz office will fine to drivers. They will tracking by Eurotel Satillie. Willi Betz are became like big brother!!! :open_mouth: I know Willi Betz want keep continue contract and work with bigger company proctor & gamble. dont want lose bigger contract -could be fortune to betz company!!!

Cheers Ben

your right ben, they dont stay over night anymore due to theft, not just betz trucks either, they do park up though for long periods of time, when i drove up the road when they were parked, they were having a game of football in the middle of the road, lol, well passing it to each other, passing time proberly, as there were 4 trucks already on bays and these guys were waiting, the last pic the the betz and spedition truck, that little pull in off the one way system is where they stop and chat, and get out the cooking stoves, many a time i have seen them on their stools cooking away

will get some more

PS: anyone see the Betz cab on the M6 junction 3 southbound on the back of a low loader on friday?

he hit something and he had no front end left, and also fire damage, drivers side wheel and fuel tank were missing (possibly due to an accident) or removed due to damage.

They have agree all betz trucks must stay at Knusford MSA for overnight or weekend parking plus free parking anytime in Knusford MSA

so thats why we cant park there anymore its a bloody haulage yard for betz trucks

jon

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

The Knutsford MSA (southbound anyway) has symbols on the signs saying “No HGVs” Betz. As Moto also own the Poplar 2000 Truckstop, I expect its because they don’t want big, dirty, smelly trucks cluttering up their nice little MSA, they want us to use there big, dirty, smelly, expensive truckstop.

While the Poplar 2000 does have its devotees, I’m not one of them. It’ll do if I cant make it to any of the alternatives, but only just.

here’s a couple more Ben

Jules

Cheers for nice renualt premium yellow, serial number - 6056 or 6066 or 6068 ? :unamused:

Where do you get pics ? Skemersdale Ind Est ?

Cheers Ben :sunglasses:

God, I aint been up that way for ages, is the ravenhead brick works still open? I think it was steetley when I was in there a lot, running bricks all over the place.

you could tell how bad it was getting in the UK , and Europe come to think of it, when you could guarantee that within 20 mins you would see a Willi Betz, and then every 20mins, and on and on…& that was about 6 yrs ago… i’m off out to Seville Tomorrow so i’ll have a count up and see how bad its got now…

That was 6056 if I remember correctly Ben. Pics taken at a place on Round Spinney, Northampton where I do the odd pick-up…can’t remember the name but they do car parts, esp Toyota.

The guy in the pic of the premium was the driver. Being a polite kind of guy and not wishing to offend, I asked if it was ok with him if I took the pics and he said ok…strange accent tho so I asked him where he was from, Turkey originally said he, interesting says I…you sound more like an ozzie (which he did) nice bloke tho

cheers

Jules

is the ravenhead brick works still open? I think it was steetley when I was in there a lot, running bricks all over the place.

LOL mal, yeah Ravenhead is still open, steetley…wow that was some time ago, i remember that, we used to knick bricks from there, me mum had a nice new wall built, lol, and a fireplace lmao, the quarry at the back has almost gone, they have built new houses on most of it now, i live a mile from the brick works, but theres still a lot of trafic goin in and coming out still, they cut the field in hal or was that there when u delivered mal, so its easier access to the works

Isn’t the Steetley place where Rawcliffes are now?

cheers rogue it was while back i admit! i seem to remember we went off the main road, did a rigth and went along the froint of some houses, and there was a big set of gates wirth steeltey on them. were they good bricks that you purloined!

The place I’m referring to is on Stanley Way at the bottom of Spa Lane right opposite Ken Abram.

It used to be called Stanley Industrial Estate, but with the coming of Asda and the other large RDCs on there I’ve no idea what the area is called now.

wish i could help you out marky, i dont know whats there these days!

I think you’re talking about the place on Chequer Lane at Upholland Mal.

i reckon youre right marky, chequer lane rings a bell, we off the 58, go right, up the main drag, turn right, turn right again, the works was on the left.

Yup, that’s it Mal - off the 58, up Stannanought Road to the roundabout, round to the right onto Newgate Road (all the way around the playing field and past the new houses on the left) then left onto Ormskirk Road and left again into Chequer Lane.

Atkinson did a picture shoot in that quarry for a 6x6 fire appliance chassis-cab in the sixties.
