We’ve just give the Foden a bit of a clean up this weekend.

Ex Tarmac?

Sorry, just joined and popped this on another thread - but, hey-ho, another pic won’t hurt :smiley:

I used to signwrite these eight-leggers for BRS Northern Contract Division, in Darlington for quite a few years.
Generally it was a Saturday morning job in straight black.
Nice trucks to drive, but then again I never had to drive them loaded.

The ‘Wiltsheir’ Leylands are also my work too.

Well if you never drove a Foden when it was loaded, You missed out because a Foden with a 12 speeddBox with a gear for every hill was a treat to drive IMO, but I must say your signwriting couldn’t be faulted, Regards Larry.

I remember Steetley bringing magnesium lime from Llynclys quarry near Oswestry down this way.

Steetleys, A long gone name in the lime industry, Ive loaded Bulk & Palletitized stuff from a few of their plants in the UK, Happy money making days in the haulage game, Long gone now Im afraid with all the ■■■■■■■ ■■■■■ the the haulage men have to put up with, Eh , Regards Larry.
