Fleetboard Drivers Card?

Our company have given all drivers Fleetboard Smartcards for use in our new Sprinters.

A few of us have been wondering what it takes to put these things out of action without any physical / visible damage.

Someone suggested a few secs in the Microwave or find a big magnet.

Any advice from people with experience of Fleetboard cards?

I thought I was looking at the “Professional Drivers Forum”, plainly not.

Sabotaging the Smart card just means the data collected by Fleetboard isn’t attached to a driver, doesn’t stop anyone working out who was driving what and when if normal control procedures are in place.

The card is company property, damaging it constitutes gross misconduct which could lead
to the sack. Please don’t take your c+e we don’t need you.

My suggestion is just drive sensibly and you’ll have nothing to fear but I’m sure that could prove too difficult.

deliberately damaging anything constitutes criminal damage which could lead to a prison sentence

Where there’s a will there’s a way…

Why would you want to?? im guessing if your in a sprinter now, you have 30 to 40 or maybe more drops, on a job and knock basis…

so say (for example) your day rate is £60 then based on the current minimum wage your wage is based on a 9 1/2 hour day.

now, if you cannot get all the drops off in the 9.5 hours allocated due to keeping your “card” clean, then you start taking stuff back… if ALL the lads do this, they will soon realise they either have to scrap it OR take on more drivers! either way its happy days for you!!

only a real idiot would want to destroy something that could make your life simpler…

Thanks to all those who sent me private messages. Tested on several cards during this mornings run and appears to be working. Got big brother nice and confused now. Just where we want them.

No worries on the c+e but thanks for the offer. Got mine years ago. Just like a nice easy van job over the summer months so I can spend more time with the kids. Keeps the misses happy for a good life!

Thanks again and safe trucking brothers.

Let’s just hope they are the only 2 posts you will ever make.

From this account it will be.

Didn’t want to use my real member account for such devilish questions.

Thanks again to all involved.

Until they twig what you’re doing which won’t take long at which point you and your mates may find you’re at the dole office on Monday at which point the DWP will inform you you’re not entitled to out for 26 weeks because you got the sack.

As for not wanting to use your main account I think it speaks volumes for the kind of gutless spineless coward you are. Comes as no surprise to be honest.

thanx for posting my Words

Hi guys.

Great news. Just been promoted with a pay rise and use of a take home vehicle.

Thanks to all those that offered their help.

To those who are being a bit silly and negative, keep your chins up and be positive. You can do it as well but complaining gets you no where.

Beers on me!

i don’t understand how damaging company property would get you a promotion
please explain !!

Do the others now call you Corporal, Sarge, Sir or what? I think it’s important that we should know how to address you as I feel that some of us are struggling right now!

Simple. you let all the other drivers tamper with the card but don’t tamper with your own.
Then you grass your mates up

I dont know what a fleetboard card is or how it works, but i would assume its a bit like a tacho,. which logs all the information a company needs to run it efficiently, so by sabotaging it could give you a headache, apart from the criminal prosecution, theres also fraud involved as claiming hours worked illegally is also an offence. I think they are for your own benefit the same as tachos were against the old log books, as much as some of us were working a great deal more hours than what we should have done, at no extra money for us, but just to get the job done, there were so many fiddles, so i think its in your best interest to go along with the boss, what are you afraid of ?
