No you don’t you be better of and it’s much quicker to phone them to order a new digital card your have it within a couple of days
You are allowed to keep them, until the new one arrives…licence included, because theyre needed for everyday work.

Yep ring them, much easier
As long as all the details are correct on you’re current card and you have not changed you’re address then its easier to phone up DVLA and pay over the phone, i phoned up for mine on a Monday morning and the new card was at home on Wednesday morning. I believe you will still need to keep you’re old tacho card on you for the next 28 days in case VOSA stop you.
