First shifts

Ive managed to find an opportunity with a small local firm, just working at weekends.
Did my first 2 runs this weekend with the gaffa and realy enjoyed it.
As with most new passes the reversing is a nightmare :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
However he’s going to teach me in his small yard over the next few weeks

I realy feel like I may have landed on my feet, perfect for getting trucking alongside my other work (taking breaks into account obviously)

So if your struggling as a new pass, I totally get where your coming from, but as well as trying those big players, hunt out your small guys with only a handful of trucks, ring them, go see them, you never know and sooner or later you’ll find an opportunity

Do you have another non driving job

Really?
Ignoring the 3 choices of Manual entry, back of a printout or back of a tacho disc then?

There are reports that the DVSA now want all records for none HGV driving days to be done the legal way (the 3 options mentioned by stu675), how true it is I’ve no idea but personally I wouldn’t chance it until the situation has been cleared up by the DVSA.

At the end of the day it’s not a big deal to do the manual entries on printouts or charts.

Congratulations on taking the first step. You will be out on your own in no time.

The DVSA have said they are looking to clarify by 2025.
