First run with company

i have asked my friend for permission to post this.
My good friend drives for a large w/peg company and went on holiday for 10days in the sun…The company is 1 driver per truck 99% of the time so my friend was told to park it in the barn as it was to be serviced and fitted with a tracker ( truck runs up north where no phone coverage is )
Soooo my friend goes into work yesterday as usual( Sunday ,first day back) and truck is gone !.goes into dispatch and no one makes eye contact …well wk end manager asks him into office :open_mouth: .
Seems a new employee(first run) took the truck to Edmonton Monday morning (since it was out o the shop and not parked back in the barn )for a trailer drop ,pick up loaded trailer to come back to wpeg
Well he arrives in Edmonton Wednesday afternoon :exclamation: and changes trailer and leaves for Wpeg … on Friday dispatch going nuts ,he does not answer cab phone :open_mouth: and the tracker no longer works!.
Sunday morning another company driver phones in to say ****** trucks heading East on #1 just out Calgary…
as of 3pm Monday truck has still not made it into the Peg
As my friends logbook, winter clothes ,bedding .gps radio, heated toecap boots are in truck no go for him … (100%flatdeck work) he has to go in Tuesday as they hope truck to be back in.
…What can you say about that …if i owned the truck the RCMP would have been involved by Friday .
this is all 100% true as told to me by friend this afternoon.
for the other drivers sake he better not have taken some o my mates stuff. :imp: :imp: :imp: .
jimmy .will find out more an keep up to date.

Jimbo,

Have to say I agree mate, I would have gone (zb) raj by this point!!! I hope you’re mate gets his gear back…

B

  not everyone in canada
so Wpeg -Edmonton 13-14hrs …truck in question 100km on cruise 105 on foot ,company runs hwy 16 .
so by midnight should be around Lloydminster (given an hr for whatever).
8hr bunk 2ish hrs into Edmonton ( by roadkill for drop &pick) by at most mid morning Tuesday.

When I go on holiday I park my truck where it’s safe, on my drive. I once went to the UK in late november and the company asked me to take it to Albany incase it froze at home, even though it’s plugged in. I was promised that only 2 mechanics would have the keys and do work on it. They kept their promise even though they had several breakdowns, they never leet anyone else take it.

I went back to the UK for a couple of months a couple of years ago and my truck was parked up against the fence for the whole time :sunglasses:

This past summer I mangled my shoulder and had three months off, they used it a few times here and there, but for the most part they kept my truck parked for 2 months and three weeks and then sent it out with another driver  In all fairness he took all my gear out and the office bods put it all away in a clean, dry storage room and the driver that had 361 for the week kept it in very good shape, so I had nothing to complain about

PART 2
Well the truck arived in W/peg on monday night so that was 7 and a half days to do a Edmonton switch back to the Peg…
Should have taken 28hrs driving plus the switch and of course bunk time.
Driver left dirty footprints all over my buds carpet squares in the bunk and on the douvet!! :unamused: :open_mouth:
Damage though!.. no end on electrical cord, and airlines streched out ,so they had to be replaced and lo and behold scuff marks at back o cab ,mechs had figured out/guessed thats why no signal from gps …mushroom on roof must have been covered .and off course ■■■ ash all over dash.
driver never hung around to speak to dispatch, well it seems they are going to sack him when they can get hold o him.
