The mob I work for is rarely mentioned on here, despite all these “What firms do european” threads. It’s not like we keep it a secret either, what with us having UK & European written on both sides of the cab

Also Gist.

Gist is international company for many years. It is also part of a Linde Group. They have come to the UK from abroad not the other way round.

We - The guys piloting the Pink trucks are pretty proud of our european work. Over half the Worcester based fleet over the water each week… Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Lux and the Isle of Wight!!!

Things have changed since I left then!

Before it was just the same 4 or 5 drivers snaffling all the euro work, including one I wouldn’t trust to drive round the corner let alone all way to Portugal!

But I bet she still has a job…despite being one of the most dangerous drivers I have ever encountered!

SHE HAS!!!

Still now that I have passed my Driver trainer exam (with my colleague set to do the same! ) We ll start the education there!
As for drivers abroad, mr D, we have this week alone 16 loads exiting, with 12 drivers. The work is shared about - more so now. There are guys who will never go abroad with the company, simply because if they cant circum-navigate the uk without getting lost, sending them to Macon or Pallais sur vienne is a real big NO!!!

What about drivers who get hysterical about having to park alone?

Well sometimes even the uk is “not secure” - I had my diesel pinched a few weeks back, and that shook me up for a few days…
