Finger print removal help needed please

I had yesterday evening activated a fingerprint mode to open my Samsung note 4 mobile phone, and it was working fine all evening with no problems.

This morning it won’t open on using the fingerprint & keeps rejecting it even though I have followed the on screen instructions & cleaned the screen & finger as instructed. It has opened on the back up code although this was refused once too! ! :open_mouth:

I really want to get this fingerprint lock removed does anybody know how to do this please? I really need my phone for work and can’t be messing putting in a code all the time.

Any help greatly appreciated please.

looks like a hard reset … hope you have everything backed up to your sim card, computer or sd card .

Thanks for your reply nick, luckily I still have almost everything on the note 2 , I didn’t want to send it across to the note 4 until I was a bit more familiar with it.
The note 2 was a ’ gem ’ of a phone, I have to say I’m not pressed with the note 4 at all

sounds silly but try all fingers if not it really looks like a hard reset … back to factory settings … the other prob with the security settings is the face recognition… stick to number or the pattern locks if you need to use them.

I’ve got the same phone and when I set up the fingerprint activation I also set up a password option as well, that should open the phone up when the fingerprint option doesn’t work

Thanks nick and Selby, for your replies, I did make a backup password, but when that started to not work properly it got me very worried, I can’t be without my phone at work, nor when I’m home either . And it’s not the easiest thing to do type in passwords every few minutes as needed at certain times

I have managed to remove the fingerprint lock off my phone now at last!

Thanks again

Thanks to the mods for moving the post to a better place  sorry if caused any inconvenience

Hmm thought this was going to be a crime scene.

How …
did you get it to work or go a diff route ■■

I managed to get on a Samsung website and go info from there from another model & hoped the set up was similar, thankfully I was able to get the fingerprint lock off , which I have to say is a huge relief. You can imagine what a pain it was to keep typing in passwords , which didnt always work, every few minutes if needs be on shift days & nights …so not workable- tear your hair out time !!!
Thanks again nick

Nice to know you got it sorted … I do like the Samsung but my new one is a Sony much the same lay out and stuff I only ever use the pattern lock when I use it …

The note 2 for me is better than the note 4 in layout
( although similar ) , & photo quality . I tried Sony Ericsson & Motorola unsuccessful with those, Nokia I found ok , but am used to Samsung & had them for about six years now.

But I rekon I won’t be bothering to put a lock on my phone again! these days you realise how much you need your phone :sunglasses: I’m just glad to get it back on track

beware, I had my phone half inched on a night out, I couldn’t report it stolen due to…err…The stag night still going on, some things are more important

So I reported it in the morning, 8 hours later my bill was the best part of £500. They had been ringing premium rate numbers linked to their bank accounts.

Luckily it was all insured so I got it all back. But it isn’t half annoying having to change all my passwords that were saved onto websites on that phone, all because I was too lazy for a lock!

Thanks for the tip f-reds, I ll take that on board !

It does however also have built in security protection & can warn me of various situations the phone finds itself in :open_mouth: & it can be disarmed totally to stop someone else using it :sunglasses: amongst other things

If I needed to access the phone for some reason in a hurry, it could be a problem, & bigger problem if I can’t access it all !!! :frowning:

I’m sure you enjoyed the stag night  , pity about your phone though!
