Finally going abroad

After over 12 months of trying, Maru of Dewsbury have me starting as from monday coming.

Been over a bit before but really wanted it regular, its a lot of ADR based stuff so expect to be bombarded with topics asking for advice!

Doing my final week with Ken Mallinson’s of Barnsley, which I must add have been a fantastic employer, and wouldn’t have considered leaving if it wasn’t for this opportunity.

I’ll try get a diary of my first week together, but as far as I know I’m double manning the first week to learn the ropes, and I’m sure he’s as thrilled about the thought of an alien living with him for the week, as I am knowing I am being an hinderence to somebody.

Anyway I shall try report back, Happy Trails.

Pack the sun lounger chair or garden chair to sit by the truck when the shifts are done or top up the tan on a tacho break.

Good luck.

Well done and good luck.

Good luck…

I see quite a few of Maru’s over here…

Good looking kit & I think the drivers keep their own trailers (as some of them have their names on the back of them)…

Good luck…dont forget ya flip flops,

Well done and the best of luck.
If you’re unlucky you might meet me, we use the same boats, fill up at the same petrol stations and cross paths in all sorts of places.

Instead of asking in here, ask the Maru lads you’ll be working with. They’re a decent enough bunch and been doing the job for a while. Anything you need to know, they’ll have the answers, along with the best routes into your drops, if the truck entrance is the postal address, which door to go to once you find the way in, who to ask for when you find the right door etc.
You can ask in here too if you like, but the drivers you’re working with can tell you exactly what you need to know, tailored to the actual job you are doing. In here we can only give you general advise mainly.
Don’t believe the office donkeys. The only reason they can tell the front of a truck from the back is - there’s some glass bits at the front, there’s none at the other end.

Good luck with the job hope you enjoy being over the water.
