If you can prove you have held a UK hgv (or French ) for 10 years you do not FIMO ,all you will need is FCOS

My understanding of the situation too Russel, welcome to TN, hope to hear more from you in beautiful Carcassonne.
Can’t help much with numbers, my local office was in Poitiers and notoriously bad at answering letters or calls. You could try Googling AFT-IFTIM for info though.
Hang on, just found some numbers. Suggest :
Rhone-Apes/Auvergne, 38280 Villette d’Anthon Tel: 04 72 02 58 58
or
Sud, 368 Blvd. Henri Bamier - BP28, 13321 Marseille Cedex.
Tel: 04 91 46 65 00
Let us know how you go on.

Hi russelllimoux, WELCOME
I’m an ex ex-pat and international driver, if you take my meaning. I also agree with Spardo, Carcassonne is a beautiful town.
I spotted the “ADR” in your post, so here’s my tuppence worth as an ADR instructor and DGSA (“conseiller”, pour le transport de marchandises dangereuses, [from ADR in French 1.8.3.1])
My understanding of it is that your ADR is OK for working in France, but I’d advise you to keep your eye on the expiry date, as you might need more time than normal to revalidate. If your French is good enough, you might be able to revalidate in France. If not, you’d probably have to come back to the UK to do it. That might delay things a little, and you could probably do without a gap in your earnings.
I can research the UK end of that for you, if you like. I’m not sure when you did your present ADR, but it’s no longer City & Guilds and a pencil for the exams!! Since late 2006, the exam body is SQA, and they’ve changed several of the rules. For instance, the UK doesn’t allow the use of dictionaries or translators for exams, but it might be different in France. The UK now trusts you to use a biro for the exams though…!!
