It is fantastic. Dictionary definition:
adjective
imaginative or fanciful; remote from reality.

Wonder how much the daily meal allowance is?

Probably a voucher to get a Greggs sausage roll every day

Wouldn’t surprise me. Cheeky ■■■■■■■■■

I know I sound like an insane lefty oatmeal - ah I mean lentil - munching nutjob, but
if a job doesn’t pay you enough to afford to pay the mortgage on a cheap house, then either houses are vastly overpriced else we’re vastly underpaid.

Have say I kind of agree.
Thing is though some one will apply for above job and do it.
…if nobody applied to poor paying jobs company’s would have no choice but to pay more to attract drivers.
But as long as there’s people willing to apply and do jobs for basaiiy not much more than minimum wage .pay will never go up

Some people have no choice, if they need the work/money and they’re on their a rse… i understand that.
But yeh generally some of the rates these firms are offering now is shocking. Especially when as you say, its comparable to minimum wage. To make it pay anything more like decent you have to work all the hours god sends.
Maybe in some ways it explains the high turnover of staff in some of these gaffs.

new licence holders might apply for it to get experience

I got offered this job via email. The daily meal allowance is £4.

Afternoon

I have been given your cv from a colleague

We have a night position available in our warrington depot

It will be mainly class 2 work with class 1 cover.

All hours worked will be paid at class 1 rate.

It will be Monday – friday

Rates of pay are

£13.00 per hour 1st 10 hours

£15.00 per hour after 10 hours

Saturday = £16.00 per hour

Sunday – Bank Holidays = £18.00 per hour

£4.00 per day Meal allowance

Night rate is £1.65 per hour (20.00 – 06.00 hours)

If that’s class one pay it’s even worse

Considering minimum wage will be £12.21 in about 5 weeks time its a joke.

we’re in the wrong sector guys.

Oh no!
Can’t believe anything fake is on F/B.

I’ll send them my details just in case.

this might be as good as any time for a quick PSB

Never give your licence details - number - to random never heard of them players on fakebook etc.

Else you might 6 months later get a letter from the courts asking you about your next appearance on speeding charges. It’s a right bugger to clear your name once someone steals your ID

Could be a county lines type job-just saying like

This is why the haulage industry cut its own throat (for the drivers) when they didn’t unionize properly. They got started properly in the 1920s/30s mechanized and maybe were too late to the game compared with rail and shipping industries but still it’s a weak-achilles tendon.

Stobart pay isn’t any better but they make out getting a meal allowance is part of your hourly rate… but that’s before they take money to cover the increased NI…. They pay mon-fri days £12.41
