Fancy a challenge?

Right, nearly all of us on here could do with loosing a few pounds, I’ve put over a stone on over the last couple of years and would like to lose at least half of it.

Here’s the idea, My ex wanted to lose a bit but refused to tell me her weight and I came up with this to try to help her and it’s occured to me that it could work on here too. I think weight loss clubs do similar but I know nothing about them.

Pick a day you’re always at home if you can and weigh yourself in your underware or naked (for consistancy) first thing in the morning (or when you get up) after popping to the loo. You don’t need to tell anyone what you weighed, just take a note of it or remember it. A week after, weigh yourself again and tell us all what you put on or lost.

If you lost - well done!
If you put on - you have the shame of having to tell us all

I’m up for it, obviously, is anyone else?

Dont have any bathroom scales in my house never have so that wouldnt work for me

But think it could be a good idea if there are people who would like to lose some weight ( like me ) but there should be no pressure they would also have to be truthful in there answer

But a good healthy diet with some exercise helps as people could put on there tips ie exercise they do how they eat ( recipes ) although it wont work for all

but the hardest part is keeping the weight off

Because we’re stereotyped fat hairy arsed truck drivers

I’ve heard that you can lose weight by drinking beer, it must be true because a lorry driver told me whilst we were waiting in an RDC waiting room … it’s worth a try anyway

 I’ve proved this doesn’t work, but I dont think it makes you fat either as long as you lead a reasonably active lifestyle and dont go too mad. I’m sure I’ve lost a couple of pounds talking to the big porcelain telephone on occasion though

ok, ok I could’ve worded it better but it still stands - a number of us have mentioned in the past about the belly that results from a relatively inactive job but being too tired mentally at the end of the day to feel much like doing anything about it, I thought a little “public” encouragement / humiliation might help, maybe even appreciated but hey-ho.

In the last 6 months ive shed 4 inches from the waistline and the scales tell me ive lost 4lb, should i be happy or unhappy according to the stereotyping talk?

When have you seen a fat alcoholic

Fair point - I suspect that’s for other reasons though, like they spend all their money on booze and forget they’ve gotta eat

I’m 5ft 10" and weigh just under 11.5st which is considered normal (bmi = 23iirc) But I’ve got a bit of a belly that I didn’t have before I started driving for a living and would like to shift it. Doesn’t make me a fat, hairy arsed trucker and that’s not what I meant with my o.p. But I don’t really want to end up one either

I hope my comment was not misunderstood, I wasn’t saying truck drivers are fat hairy arsed people but that is the way we’re stereotyped :frowning:

Ask anyone to describe a typical lorry driver and listen to the answer given after they’ve stopped swearing and cursing

No offence taken or intended tachograph, I was just trying to clarify what I meant before anyone else took offence.

I’ve gone from 21st 8lbs to 19st 10lbs in 2months

I’ve just stopped eating like a pig 4/5 times per day and taken a little more time in considering what I actually eat, nothing is off limits, just a better version/healthier version chosen.

Best thing I did was buy a new mountain bike 2months ago which i’m using 2/3 times per week

That is true, but the peanut butter on the Nimble is my downfall. I knew a bloke who drank like a fish, he weighed about 8 stone, and then he died, so losing weight can be as bad as being overweight :stuck_out_tongue:
