At first I thought it may have been an April fools joke but the video was only posted today or yesterday

OK thanks, yes that does appear to be the same discussed legislation, I hadn’t seen the topic when I came across the video above.
An emissions test every two years and a ban on messing about with emissions stuff, does not seem too onerous to me. But, as you and I are probably both thinking, that won’t make an interesting Video.
Brussels has been fast tracking the ‘Green Deal’ since Ursula got the nod again for president of the European commission. Some have been lobbying for proposed future regulations that ICE cars aged 15 years or older should be deemed end of life & decommissioned to get back on track for NetZero.
From what I’ve read, It will all boil down to the wording & description of the vehicle criteria, If they class it as a residual vehicle then it will be declared as “irreparable”.
End of life at 15 years! Just nicely run in. I’ve never scrapped a car as young as that. Do they not know there is a climate crisis and the manufacture of new cars and shipping of same round the world is a huge cause of pollution mainly thanks to governments forcing car co’s to close factories and making the public buy EVs from pollution rich China.

There was also a piece in one paper that mentioned the condition of airbags in 20+ year old cars that are deemed dangerous & well past their operating date.
