There was a time when there was NO speed limit for lorries ( or any other vehicle ) on the motorways and you were never quite sure how fast you were going as speedometer only went up to 60 mph or 80 mph and sometimes the needle would go past 0
cheers Johnnie

Bang on. The odd rod went through the side and a tyre blew out now and again. Nothing unusual.
tachograph:
Those Irish police taking an artic unit out on public roads at 100mph should be prosecuted for putting the public at risk, they said the test was done in a controlled environment, controlled my arse they were on a public road overtaking other unsuspecting vehiclesAnd just to make it worse there were warning lights coming on in the vehicle and they still continued driving at speed and overtaking other vehicles
Did the Police proof that its safe to drive 100mph with a Lorry?
I donβt think there are regular Lorry Tyres for that Speed on the Market. Its like Hammond who puts Racing Tyres for 200mph on a 300mph Rocket Car. Didnt do good for long.
Good story in Comical motor about Arnold Transport of Ireland. He was caught with some sophisticated electronic kit on his fleet, and said to the TC he needed to keep his licence to survive.
I think if the kit was that good, then haulage would not be my next choice of career
It took a specialist team two days to find the electronics.

Makes me laugh with such as arnold who are running a bit naughty ,they have topline v8s with all the lights and sidepipes they dont blend into the background much, most seem to be driven by the so called tangs who brag about how much work they can cover in a shift, no wonder word gets out and they get tugged
The ABS warning on the dash looks like the lift axle is up symbol to me.
