Blimey, he’s even older than I am. I started in 1963. But even then if I am eating with other drivers in a routier and the subject of age comes up the most common comment on learning mine is ‘chapeau’.
Quite a compliment as it means ‘hat’, short for ‘hat’s off to you’.
