Hello everyone,
Firstly, may I wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Steve, yes the lorry was a double drive. Was it hauling F Brown’s Plant Hire trailers??
pete 359, I like the tribute, first class!
Kindest Christmas Regards

When I started driving in 79, Browns had one A series ERF left among the fleet of 111s and 88s, their last day cabbed tramper motor, it was driven by a lad called Dougie from Abbeytown, who later got a 88, they also had a 6 wheeler rigid Volvo 86 (Later sold to Peter Fraser at Silloth) a couple of years later they ran 2 Sed Atk 400s, one driven by Dennis Blacklock ( which was written off on the M6 at Stoke.) Around the same time a lad from Bothel,( I think) had the only 111 which was blinged up with Stacks, spots and chrome wheel trims, has anybody got any pics of any of these motors??

Hello Robroy,
Sorry, your right, that is an ERF E series wagon, which was used as a yard shunter until the closer of the haulage fleet.

Hello georgeking, Yes I knew John Armstrong not sure if he is still around. He had a Ford D800 or perhaps a D 1000 (can,t remember) 6 wheeler bulk blower but the signwriter made a mess of it. On one door the address was given correctly as CARDEWLEES whilst the oposite side was signwritten CARDENLEES.
Cheers. Leyland 600
