Somebody might say I am wrong but I believe that if you extend your drive to 10 hrs not over
Can you still reduce your rest to 9 hrs is this correct
If this is correct then why was I asked to sign a infringemet for doing this of course I refused when asked why i said that i hadn’t done anything wrong. If I am wrong I will go into work on Monday and sign it
Two seperate rules which can be used together so a 10 hour driving day can be done in the same shift as a 9 hour reduced daily rest
The ‘10 hour driving day’ can be done twice in any fixed week
The ‘9 hour daily rest’ can be done 3 times between weekly rest periods

There’s no rule against doing a 10 hour drive and reducing your daily rest period in the same spread-over, so unless there’s some company rule where you work you should not have been given an infringement for it.
On 10 hour driving days the likelihood is most drivers will end up with a reduced daily rest unless all they are doing is driving that day. 10 hours driving + 90 minutes of break + vehicle checks only leaves an hour and a bit for other stuff such as fuelling, loading, unloading, picking up trailer, dropping trailer, booking into delivery or collection place and so on before you are over 13 hours.
Thanks for the replies just as I thought a well trained driver trainer
