You’ll get an infringement for it when your card/chart is analysed but you’re not in trouble unless it’s a regular occurrence.
Do a printout and write an explanation on it and keep it with you in case you get stopped, to be honest no-ones likely to bother about a couple of minutes if it’s a one off, but if you’ve got a printout with an explanation it does at-least show that you’re aware of what happened.

Don’t lose any sleep!
Last time this happened was november but I went over by 20 minutes! I couldnt find anywhere for break from daventry to hinckley on the a5 everywhere was full… Hasn’t shown as an infringement on my card though so all is good . Cheers for comments peeps.

I may be wrong, but, if it hasn’t shown up as an infringement then I’d suggest that you calculated wrongly and you didn’t in fact go over your time.
BTW, VOSA aint thick, if you tell them all the laybys on A5 from Daventry were full, they’d probably ask why you didn’t pull into Rugby truckstop then.

I went 3 minutes over as i was shunting the truck around a carpark due to car drivers being parked all over the place. All i did was a printout and put on the back why i went 3 minutes over.

Indeed you may be correct Waddy, however he did say he went over his 4 and a half, not his nine or his ten, which led me to believe it was a break he needed, not an overnight.
