I currently work a Thu to Mon shift and got an infringement last work cycle on 12/10/20. The card reader said “insufficient daily rest”. [CWT = ■■■■■■■■■■ working time, CDT = ■■■■■■■■■■ driving time, RR = reduced rest]
Thu 8/10/20 0600-1831 cwt 12h31 cdt 7h11
Fri 9/10/20 0544-2037 cwt 14h53 cdt 9h09 [RR]
Sat 10/10/20 0658-2016 cwt 13h18 cdt 5h59 [RR]
Sun 11/10/20 0530-1901 cwt 13h31 cdt 8h12 [RR]
Mon 12/10/20 0700-2151 cwt 14h51 cdt 9h10
Mon 5/10/20 off work.
Sat I changed trucks 3 times (mine went into inspection and a fault was found - so I had to use another (which had had its inspection) and needed to be returned to the yard. I then got allocated another for the rest of my work cycle. Not changed trucks that often during a shift - think I am right in saying one just ejects the card and inserts it in the next truck… give about 5 mins as the truck clock can be slightly different from another (I think - over a year ago I remember changing trucks and it rejected the card… had to wait a while as the 1st truck clock was 5 mins slower than the 2nd). When one changes trucks the card needs to go in the 2nd vehicle within about 15 mins. But if I had made a muddle then any infringement would have been listed for Sat.
Mon 12/10/20 - I finished work 2151 (cutting it fine - I was delayed on the M25 and then near the yard there had been an accident due to mud on the road).
Perhaps when I put the card in tomorrow at 0600 (having now had 2 rest days) it will clear as the tacho will ask me to confirm I finished on Mon at 2151 and taken rest since then? Been with this firm now for 8 weeks and not had this so I don’t see how the other weeks have been different. I have to remember the previous Mon to my work cycle as easy to forget for my RR days.
Many thanks for any suggestions.
