Ive travelled this route maybe 6 or 7 times in the 2 years I’ve been in Canada crossing the border through N. Portal. Now normally I go straight through the town, but last night I noticed a sign saying heavy trucks must turn left or right. So I turn left ended up going along the 18W, 35N and eventually back onto the 39N at Weyburn. So have I been a lucky boy the other times I’ve gone this route and not been caught? Or is this a new sign that’s been put up? Also what is the most convenient way to get back on the 39N?
That diversion for trucks has been there for over 5 yrs but before it was only a right turn.
I missed it one night in real heavy snow and got caught driving straight through, $360 fine.
That was about 4 1/2 - 5 yrs ago.
yep!!
Been there years. Strangest diversion ever if you ask me.

HaHa, yeah, I don’t get the point of it, it’s not like you’d be driving through downtown or anything, there’s more shops, junctions, traffic on the diversion all for the sake of a few hundred yards of straight road.
Ahem, I class myself as a novice, so I’ll put it down to that lol. So what’s the best way round? Via King Street?
I use to turn right at the Husky,
down to the end of the road, turn left,
T junction turn right,
crossroads/lights,go straight ahead, round a tight left bend,
T junction, turn right.
+10 above… used to do 3 drops in Estevan inc 1 in the no go zone, needed to in that way to get to the door… …used to phone up delivery to make sure permission had been granted for access, got stopped one day and the git wa going to book me until the customer turned up and told the cop/dot to check first …lol…

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind the next time I go through there.
I go that way most weeks and just go upto the lights by dodge and turn right and follow the road round. It does need some major maintenance doing on that road though the rutts are huge
