If your not doing anything wrong then you’ve got nothing to worry about in my book.
That’ll slow them down abit on the A12.

From the big book of quotes by Comrade Stalin
Apparently, they catch more vans and cars doing things wrong than lorries but its the lorries that get the media attention
Looks very similar to my silver Actros - I wonder how many people will slow down when they see me in their mirrors on the A12!?
Gary
I would think they be on the M11 now and then
Glad to see they’ve got a few quid spare to go out for a jolly in a truck.

Come off it, there make more money than a transport firm would in fines out of that truck, all there have to do is stop 10 drivers at £60 and quids in.

It’ll be a cop driving, so reg wage.

So catching drivers acting dangerously is just a revenue earner ■■?

It is a revenue earner.I agree about cooking a meal, texting, DVD watching etc. Many cctv cameras spot that. Also helicopters FFS -fairly recent case on the A55. Having a slurp of water or coffee, sandwich, choccie bar I would presume are all fair game. How many of us can truthfully say they have never done any of these? Are all the truck and car manufacturers who fit cupholders equally to blame?

I have eaten and sipped a cuppa whilst driving a LGV but only at apropriate times and the one time I deffo would not do that is if another was close enough to me to get a good look !!
So with that said it stands to reason that if they are caught doing what I did then they must be doing it at a time which is inapropriate and therefore open to punishment - that seems logical to me
Sir +:

No because its a holder, and would be use if the car or truck was moving, otherwise a phone holder would be illegal as well, clever wording I know but true
I just caught a glimpse of the Essex Chronicle in the local shop, the front page is obviously running this story but I just assumed the Merc was some unroadworthy foreigner that’d been taken off the road
Punishment would be a talking to by PC Martin Ackers, I’ve seen him on the telly and boy does he have a droning boring voice.

There’s 4 police bikes with police riding them, a marked 4x4 and driver, and the Merc unit, with a driver and police passenger.
You’ll be needing a lot more than 10 tickets.
10 every few mins maybe.
