It’s because of idiots like him that the rest of us have to put up with ott health and safety bs. Just a lazy cu#t probably wouldn’t have bothered putting the one ■■■■■■■■ if he thought he would of got away with it

Good, hopefully the TC will refuse to reinstate his vocational licence.
One strap was ludicrous, and now sadly the poor bus driver will have this for the rest of his life…
No mention of any metal chain and metal tensioners to secure the load,a ratchet strap is no good for his load .
Another thing iI see a lot, is flat bed trailers with no headboardl on the trailer .
The loads i see have no forward restraint.
If the lorry has to brake sharpish, you have got tons of steel or concrete pipes in the back of the cab with fatal consequences .
For the traction engine, what was his excuse for one strap ?
Forgive me for being thick, but this sentence makes no sense to me.
“The court was told parts of the engine was held in place by just one strap, which snapped in the collision.”
If the steam engine was in one piece, which it appears to have been, how can “part” of it be held by one strap?
One strap? For that load? Jesus wept, he deserves all he gets.
18 months!?
Is that all he got…■■?
Should it have been years…?
The poor bus driver was conscious and trapped while unable to move except for holding onto his guts which had burst out of his body. Truly terrifying, no wonder he thought he was going to die. He has been unable to return to driving.

He’d have got 10 years if he’d fiddled the taxman, or done a major insurance fraud. Sad but true.

It’s always property before people here…

Or rather, not true at all. A 10 year sentence for tax or insurance fraud is extremely rare - you’d only get such a sentence if you were one of the top players in a major organised criminal enterprise.
