ESSEX BOYS

chalkey:
Yes - I have already opologised to Andy Dakers for posting a couple of his pictures…

As I have already said all I have done is post some pictures to rekindle days gone by and hopefully for those who visit this site ,being the guy’s who drove these trucks to bring back some memories.

Obviously the mainstay of the phoots which I have posted are my own some I have taken , In my mind I would like everyone to see and enjoy.
Its not like we are selling them on here is it.
Shame about the red writing its only pictures of trucks after all.

Next thing will be a health & safety warning.

here, here chalkey.it puzzles me why people make the big deal out of this copyright bull.

My mate Chris Goodwin used to drive for Trevor in the late '80’s early 90’s, he drove this Scania on UK only, lovely motor, and an Iveco Turbostar on Polish.

Re pictures of the 141s Micky Youngs and trevor starkes, Been watching the site for a while now i had the (lucky) honour of restoring both these great motors. Must try a dig out some photos.

Good back to the pictures, heres another Essex one, taken by the man who useedto photograph all of Tiltec’s new trailer builds. Lovely ppictures!

Rikki-UK:
There are a number of photo’s in this thread and in the Suffolk Hauliers thread that are from a copyrighted private collection owned by Mr Andy Dakers.
Mr Dakers has kindly agreed that those already posted can stay, but requests no more are posted on here without his specific permission. Please abide by his request

i would realy like to know what reason some people have for not wanting to share photos.do they require payment or what ■■. :unamused: :unamused:

Hello Makem Missile’

If you look at this forum on the site " I a’m looking for photos from Frans Maas" you find photos from Chalkey’s son, about his dad, at the time by Frans Maas U.K., Brownhills. Also from Roadways Int., Aldridge, who pulled for Frans Maas U.K., Brownhills.

Mr 141:
what can i say!! I’ll forward that picture onto Cathy, Dicks wife, thanks.
Brilliant pics, like the others, they look better in working life than restored. Great Pics, think you’ve just bought on the divorce as i’ve cancelled dinner at the pub, to keep looking through these.

Having grown up 8 miles form Boreham and 20 miles from Maldon, i cant help wishing i was born 20 odd years earlier, as i’m sure you do Chalkey. Keep the pics coming, i’ll send you a pm.

Truely fantastic pictues, my late dad drove a Scania 111, best truck ever made in my view. I also wish i was born 20 years younger so i could have been a trucker in the 70’s / 80’s, just dosen’t seem the same these days.

Taken at interlaken june 2008.

Lovely job, but I can’t help thinking that the one hooked up to the tent would look a lot better with a coating of dirt giving it a more authentic look, it’d probably make you cry after all the hard work you’ve done & the people on the road rallies would have a heart attack, but it would look the business IMO

young looking Charlie - know any of the others>■■

I think the bloke sitting second from the left is Colin Berry RIP

knowall:
Surrey Wharf was owned by Teddy Clouting (sp?) and based in Rotherhithe Street London SE16 until the mid eighties I think, he drove a Rolls Royce reg
50 TC

He & another bloke whose name escapes me, used to run St Magnus Shipping before that, they had silver & purple Scanias, but then there was a tie up of sorts with George Francis & that was the end of that, he must’ve started Surrey Wharf after that, I think Crack on to Macon worked for him at one time.

new from tekno out july 2011 ive got mine on pre order already its the same casting as the astran 111

Gonna be one fine model this one. I’m not missing out on this like I did the Astran. The Kerbey Motors R series looks good aswell, might have to add that to the collection too.

Thanks for all the photos Chalkey.
