Mystery in the making…
Is that a new photo? Thought it had been posted before?
Yes, I posted it years ago on here, in its un-enhanced form. I’ve accidentally stuck it on here again in the beautifully enhanced (by the photographer himself) version that I used in my book (Lorries of Arabia). Too late now to withdraw it so enjoy!

Eric Vick NGC in 1:50 scale (looks like a PKC kit) at Gaydon this weekend. Picture kindly posted by ‘vanman’ on the Gaydon thread.
If anyone else has pics of above model ^^^, or knows who made it, please share!

EDIT to say - I’ve found out a bit more about this model. It was made for one its ex-drivers. I have identified the unit as KFH 248P so that could one of a number of people.
I don’t know any details about that model, but there was also one (in the other hall at Gaydon) in the GL Baker livery like you have previously posted, i thought i had taken a photo but don’t have it. Sorry
Steve
Thanks vwv, I’d have liked to have seen that! Was it in 1:50 scale like the Eric Vick one?
I was chatting to Truckerash earlier today and he reported that the Gaydon show had been very good this year.
Yes it was the same scale as the Eric Vick one, it was a great show,
There were the usual model guys in a room at the opposite side to usual and there seemed to be some kind of model competition in the usual model side there were loads of a very high standard.
The parking areas outside for real stuff were full, (spread out in the new(ish) top bit
I did think there was more newer stuff (real trucks outside) but i suppose thats what happens with time.
Its 2.5 hours each way for me but i was really glad i got my act together and went.
Well, if anyone took a picture of the 1:50 scale ERF NGC in GL Baker livery at Gaydon I’d be interested to see it. (Here’s the real one:)
I’m intrigued as to whether the model was built from a PKC kit (like the Eric Vick one shown a couple of posts above), one of those less-then-accurate Littlebigwheels resin efforts, or indeed an Asam abhortion! Hopefully PKC then.
Streuth! I didn’t know BJ Walton had a third top-sleeper C-series! I drove one of them briefly. They were 6x4s with 320 Cummins in. Then there were a couple or more sleeper cabbed C-series, similar spec.

This appeared on fb today, i assume its been seen before but if nothing else it will bump the thread up.

Exactly! Good idea. It’s No.30 on the register. Reg 12-97-FB. Started life with Groenenboom, went to owner driver Steef Slappendel and finished as No.139 in the Trans Arabia fleet. IIRC the photo comes from a test drive conducted by one of the Dutch truck mags of the time.
By coincidence a completely new picture (to us) of Groenenboom’s other NGC has just come to light: No.49 on the register (registration 06-09-TB). See pic below.
And further to my queries above about the mystery NGC (No.88 on the register) allegedly in Van Ommeren livery, which a driver told me might have been operated by GL Baker along with it’s other NGC (it was seen on NYK container work in London); DEANB has been in touch with me this morning with this advert for Pitter. It states quite clearly that their units operated in the livery of their customer, so it is possible that the Van Ommeren NGC was one of Pitter’s wagons.
Can anyone shed further light on this?
Wonder how the erf compared in service to the Scania that looks to be in the same livery?
Nice new find anyway.
