ERF-Continental:
Nice find, however it was the 1974 edition.
Found something on Falcon Transport via Gerlach and will post it here.
Nice day,
A-J
I think that’s a different company. The company that ran NGCs was called Falcon Freight in the Gulf and it appears to have morphed into a big air/land/sea logistics outfit. Another one not to confuse it with is Falcongate, a well-known British company who did overland M/E work.
Thanks for narrowing the Observer down to 1974! Cheers, Robert
Courtesy of DEANB. I notice that the NGC is mislabelled as an MV (it should read 7MW). Robert
In a frequent way it has been confirmed that Damco/GG or Goedkoop-De Geus had ERFs however
without pictures…well, today it again is confirmed that for one of their major customers ICI ERFs
were used and were riding in a couple as convoy. Still waiting for the ultimate picture(s) but Robert
immediately agreed to add them to the NGC-register.
Both (at least two of the possible fleet) routed between UK and Germany with metal containers
stacked on a flat-trailer, each in pallet-dimensions. Livery was blue with the GG-logo in white.
We are close to fill the gap between produced/sold and known NGCs

. All is now in the hands of Robert, Wobbe and Rene

Another good bit of careful detective work from the land of tulips (and windmills, brown bars and friendly towns)! You are right: we are creeping ever closer to our 91 NGCs. Like the picture of the Sodertalje ERF! Robert
NGCs for Holland and Belgium

Wow! Is there? I’d better nip out and buy one! Cheers, Robert
Now this made my day! At the excellent ERF gathering at Kelsall this weekend, I had the honour of driving the Corbishley beast round the arena (pic below)!
Jerry Cooke introduced me to a couple of new ERF NGC contacts. One was Ian Tyler who drove for C.A.M.E.L. in Jeddah, which if you remember ran a couple of NGCs in their blue and white livery.
The other chap was Johnnie Heath who briefly drove JDF 132N. He was able to confirm for me that it was indeed owned by Beresford Transport (the other one in Beresford’s livery belonged to the subbie, Albert Dale if you remember from earlier posts and the book). Johnnie was also able to confirm that it started out on French number plates (as stated tenuously in the book) and operated out of Le Havre with a regular French driver. And of course, we know that it had an NTC 335 in it and ended up as No. 125 on the Trans Arabia fleet. Met 3300John too! Cracking weekend. Robert
Now that we know that JDF 132N (pictured below) deffo ran with French plates for Beresford Transport, does anyone know what that registration number was? If anyone (apart from John cited above) has old Beresford pics perhaps they could check for us. Are there any fleet records out there of Beresford’s: perhaps that would give a clue. Cheers! Robert
Good research after all those years, the 8 digit registration should end with ‘76’ according to arrondisement le havre

This is a useful clue, Dr Watson! In the meantime, I can also report that I met an old Comart driver at Kelsall who remembers the 5MW they had but thinks that the search for the 7MW-cabbed NGC is a ‘red herring’ Anyway, he reckons that someone just painted it in similar colours to Comart. We know so little about this vehicle: it was photographed by an Italian truck photographer who won’t answer my emails. We don’t know it’s registration number but we know a fair bit about its English trailer. Robert

By the way A-J, you may be interested to know that this old Beresford driver was the regular pilot of their LHD 5MW (PVT 646R) on European work! Robert
Hiya…hello Robert nice to meet up with… i had a sketch to show you and forgot all about it. it was a sketch
of the panel we made that transformed the the standard motorpanels door frame into a forward control cab. no
measurements just the shape the bends and the spot welds with some brazing marked on it…i send a photo of it and
will post if you like.

Great to see you there, John. The sketch sounds interesting. It reminds me of an architect I know who still designs using free-hand drawings! Cheers. Robert
There is a nice youtube coverage of the ERF parade at Kelsall last weekend. The whole thing is worth watching, but for this thread KCH 95N appears from 18:30 through to 21:30. I’m at the wheel! Here’s the link:

This odd little series of cards is surprisingly informative. The info on the back of this particular card says quite a lot about the old NGC in just a small amount of space. You can view the flip side just a few pages back on here. Robert
