What a truly excellent picture ,check out the second steer mudgaurd on the right .

I remember this twin steer unit featuring in a Truck magazine test.

.

This was the vehicle I drove for Burmah petroleum, it had a ■■■■■■■ engine and the twin splitter. I had it for 5 years and never had any problems with it. Just after this photo was taken I was given a tri axle tank and was running at a higher weight. After 5 years the lease was up on the unit and I was given another ERF that had the twin splitter and I used that for another 5 years trouble free.

Our own Punchy Dan,s pride & Joy at last years woodhead run

Great photo Pete, I don’t know who owned this 240 G, ERF. but IIRC a owner driver had it in the 80s subbing for Fergusons of Blyth, He sold it & went into cattering IIRC, Regards Larry. PS Perhaps F Troop could remember him?

Hi Larry,
That’s what I like about this site, someone posts a photo of a lorry and someone else puts a face to the vehicle/operator, I would think it would be slow progress with that load! Cheer’s Pete

Hi Pete, IIRC The owner driver was called Chris Madgewick, It has a Edinburgh Reg, I would be interesting to know who had it from new, Regards Larry.

Pic got sent to me, so I do not know its source, will remove if it offends any one,
