Yes I did know It came from Pembs. It was originally on rubber block suspension but Peter bought spring and air suspension from a 2 axle wreck and had converted I drove it for a few year’s after and was then taken over by my son who was put of the road near Sutton Bridge on the back to Crowland. The load of coil steel shot of the front nearside of the trailer and broke her back.I alway’s thought that all the extra holes drilled in the chassis must have weakened her but tat is where she ende her day’s

Hi folks, this is obviously the place to be if you love ERF’s. Check out the below offerings.

Not sure which depot this was based at, but take yer pick…Queenborough, Broxburn, Doncaster, or Irlam

At rest on motorway services…? don’t know where though.

One of the Doncaster units fully preserved on the rally scene (shame its not in the original livery :frowning: )

And a couple for the model lovers too…

Barry Waddy .HI Rickykirk ask your kin do they remember O O W 3// G ex BAKERS we baught it in the late 70s not fast abount 52 mph but did us proud .yours Barry Waddy

Hi fellow ERF lovers…I know it isn’t a A, B or C series, but check the below out…
It was snapped last week in the Stairfoot area of Barnsley. The old boy who currently owns it says there was very little wrong with it when he got it, and that he drove it to where it now rests. Since then though, he has sold off the engine to Tanzania, but decided to keep the rest of the unit it in case someone somehwere wanted to make a go of it. I couldnt get access to snap the interior, but I could clearly see that it was in exceptional condition for its year. All the fittings were original and still in situ, the seats were unmarked as was the bunk, and the dash just needed a dust and polish. All the wheels were still on, as were the tyres which from what I could see were in excellent condition. The rear archers were spotless.

All its glass and mirrors were still in situ and intact.

Lower grille and bumper thought to be elswhere in the yard. Headlamps easily obtainable.

No batts, but again, wouldnt have thought that was a problem.

Driver obviously had a sense of humour.

Is there anyone out there who knows owt about the wagon. (by the way, not sure if it was an optical illusion or what, but the mirrors mysteriously dissapeared for this shot//// :open_mouth: )

Other than the mentioned issues, the unit is still pretty much complete…anybody fancy taking on the project??..and look, back pop the mirrors…spooky or what

Still an imposing looking wagon, even in this state…restored would be a fantastic addition to any rally scene.

Am not daft…I know that it would take some serious mechanical knowledge, and a fair wedge of cash to get her back, but someone somewhere might fancy it.

Thanks for looking.

One of the smartest fleets (then and now), this B-Series was operated by Jack Richards of Fakenham.
Seen on the A1, sometime in the late 70’s.

How smart did an ERF look with a big chrome hub cap on eh?

“Very” in my opinion!

Gotta agree mate, a very smart, yet workman like looking outfit. I rememebr going down to the Norfolk Broads for my holidays as a child in the early 80s, down the A1, along the A17, and onto the A47…(no by-passes then, and every village and town along the way had to be driven through! : …making it a long journey from Doncaster. This route would see loads of their wagons along the way.

I uesd to love driving the Taunton Cider E10 325 and that Eaton twin spilt, what a gearbox, it sorted the men from the boys  Id love to get my hands on one again for hr one weekend. EEeeee, Oopps Dreaming again.
Nice to see so many pics
Keep it up lads

One of my faves this ERF, 375 Perkins Eagle, Eaton Twin Splitter, running at 40 Tonnes on distance work , was a pleasure to drive, I wish I still had it. Regards Larry.
